Tomasovsky lookout: Lookout to paradise

Slovak paradise is not just about gorges, ladders and chains, it is also about beautiful views. One of the most beautiful and visited lookout is Tomasov lookout. 200m protruding rock formation is in the high of 146m. It offers views to Hornad, Biely potok valley and also famous Tatras. Our journey starts in Cingov, area near Spisska Nova Ves.

From orientational pillar, go up- right to rock spur. From here, turn left and continue the ridge to the small meadow. Turn left and continue the slope of Ludmanka. You will be passing rock formations named Ihla (translated Needle) and Kazatelnica (translated Pulpit).

By mild ascend, you are heading to rock terrace Tomasovsky lookout. Passing the edge of the gallery westward, continue to the right at the edge of the forest. Continue left by the edge of the meadow up to the large forest.

From here, you will get to the lookout. Enjoy the beautiful view from Tomasovsky lookout, relax, and get some strength for your next hike. You have ¼ of hike passed.

From the lookout, path full of serpentines will lead you to the valley of Trstenny potok next to Letanovsky mlyn. Till now, you followed yellow marker, however, from now on, look for the blue one. This leads you to bridging of Hornad. Behind the bridge, we continue through the broad forest path to the footboards. Be careful here, it might be dangerous.

After successful passing the Hornad river, continue the forest path and enjoy the environment. Another footboards are waiting for you. After passing them, continue through the sparse forest. Last footboards in this section are located exponentially above the peaceful surrounding. After passing them, you are reaching Hornad river.

Through the bridge, you will get to the other side. The path will lead you to crossroad under the Tomasovsky lookout. Through another bridge, follow the green marker traversing over the rocky ridge to the bridge over Biely potok.

From here, follow the blue marker again. On your left, you can see Ihla and Kazatelnica. Broad path will lead you to the bridge over the confluence of two rivers- Lesnica and Hornad. Through the bridge, you are coming to cottage area. Following the east direction, you reach the starting point Cingov.
