- Our Advice: Try food and tea at Kamenna Chalet- it is very tasty. Also, be prepared- during the peak season it is full of tourists, who came by cable car.
Thanks to cablecar, it is easy to get to the top hill of Chopok. Many tourists choose this option during the whole year. However, we would like to introduce much harder itinerary. Itinerary by foot.
We will start from hotel Grand. Next to wooden handrail, follow the path to a mountain lake called Vrbicke Pleso. Turn to its left bank and after 1 km you will reach Mikulasska Chalet.
From here, follow the yellow marker to the saddle Polana. Firstly, you will go by asphalt path, then muddy terrain will lead you to the forest. Wide forest path will lead you to wooden bridge over Zadna Voda stream. After cca 1 hour of walking, you will reach Tri Vody (Three waters), place, which marks the point, where 3 steams meet- Deresov, Polana, Bora.
After Tri Vody, terrain gets rockier. Be careful, because you have to overcome relatively high stone barriers. After leaving the forest, the hike gets a bit easier. You can see the first beautiful views. Right in front of you is Saddle of Polana, which you will reach in next minutes. Steep ascend will lead you to this Saddle.
Congratulations, the hardest part of your hike is passed!
After some relax, follow red tourist marker to Chopok. Comfortable path is replaced by steeper ascending to Deres. Following the stony path, you will reach Chopok. Enjoy the beautiful views, relax or visit Kamenna Chalet.
From Chopok, follow the blue marker to Lukova. Here, turn right, following the red marker. You will come to Pod Orlov Skalou. Following the skiing slope, you will reach Jasna- town, from where you started.
