The coast between Zadar and Split is the perfect destination for a relaxing holiday in Croatia. Cristal waters, white beaches, nature, but also music festivals, good food, and ancient villages to discover. Here, hestled in the heart of Dalmatia on a gentle slope with a southwest view and only 2,5 km away from the center of Tisno, there is an eco-friendly and luxury campsite. Olivia Green Camping is the ideal place where you can get away from it all and relax surrounded by amazing nature.

In fact, in addition to the traditional camping pitches (equipped with electricity, water, and drainage), the camping offers unique wooden villas.

Contemporarily designed, each eco-lodge has a big shaded with a sea-view terrace. Moreover, some of this luxury glamping have semi-private or completely private swimming pools.

The villas boast bio-green certification and are built employing natural and recyclable materials and fabrics.

When you get hungry, you can taste a local dish in the Olivia restaurant. In front of the sea, you can enjoy authentic dishes with a modern “twist”. The philosophy of the restaurant is to offer dishes made from fresh, seasonal, and high-quality ingredients of Dalmatia, from the farm to the table.

At the restaurant, you can also taste the local olive oil made locally every year by the hundred olive trees of the campsite. Some of them are up to 150 years old, and new trees are constantly planted.

At the lounge bar, where you can find refreshments during the day, you can enjoy some of the various cocktails or naturally squeezed juices on offer, all comfortably located by one of the three existing swimming pools.

Olivia Green Camping is the perfect starting point to discover some of the best natural parks of Croatia, such as the National Park Krkan and the National Park Kornati. Looking for some adventure? You can kayaking or zip-lining over the Čikola river canyon. In addition, you can visit beautiful villages and UNESCO heritage sites, such as the unique Split.

The commitment to the environment

The luxury campsite has adopted sustainable technologies such as renewable energy from solar panels. We recently completed a solar photovoltaic power plant installation project and the European Union co-financed it from the European Regional Development Fund. The energy obtained in this way is enough for 25% of the camp’s needs. The desire is to maximize that percentage, and further investments will certainly go in that direction. The value of the project is HRK 503,760.00, and the amount of co-financing is HRK 412,908.00.

In order to leave a minimal environmental footprint, more sustainable actions adopted by the campsite are:

  • rigorous waste recycling
  • composting organic waste
  • cutting-edge water purification systems
  • using eco-friendly cleaning supplies
  • eliminating the use of single-use plastics
  • sourcing locally-produced foods

Moreover, a third-stage water purifier is used as the water purification system. This means that all the water that is used in the camp is purified and can be used again. Besides, Olivia Green Camping uses it to irrigate the entire campsite.

Olivia Green Camping plants a tree for each reservation, in collaboration with Eden Reforestation Projects, a non-profit organization that has planted over 583 million trees worldwide until May 2021.

Now, more than ever before, it has become clear that each of us needs to contribute to the preservation of our beautiful Planet.

I am Alessia and I am currently studying foreign languages at the University of Trento. I strongly believe that foreign languages and cultures are an excellent means to discover the world and its wonderful diversity and complexity. My interests don’t end here: I grew up in the lush valleys near Brescia – in the north of Italy – and I manage to spend as much time as possible outdoors. For this reason, I value a lot of respect for the environment and sustainability. I am an art lover and I really like travelling and discovering new places. When I have to stay at home, I spend a lot of time reading books, going for long walks, and riding my bike. I always have my camera by my side, so that I can capture the most exciting and memorable moments of my adventures.
