The cycle route we will introduce you is one of 25 panoramic routes along the coastline. It means, that the route offers places to eat, accommodation and entertainment.

The route is full of contrasts. It takes you through Ice Age Hills, lake, quiet plantations and raging sea.

We will start in Nørre Vorupør. Take the Vestkystruten (West Coast Route), National Route 1. Cycling towards Stenbjerg, you will pass a holiday home of famous artist Jens Søndergaard. If you need more information about the route, you can visit Stenbjerg´s tourist info, where you will receive all information about wildlife, plants or history of Thy National Park.

Continue the way through plantation, where you will see rare high Embak dune and lake on the west. The dune is a perfect example of parabolic dune.

Follow the route to the south-east and it will take you to 7km long Ove Lake. You can visit a lookout tower on the north end of the lake and enjoy the view and bird watching.

On your way to Nørhå, across the valley, you will see farms called ’højremshuse’. They looks quite interesting. It is caused by tha fact, that they are built on the principle known from Stone Age.

Your route continues towards Jannerup and Hundborg. Passing Hundborg, you will go through a large flat area.

Continue across the lake to Tvorup. Turn south and follow the route back to Vorupør.
