This trail starts at the train station in Niederscherli. You cross Oberbalm and Borisried to get right after the river Bütschelbach and the deep grooves of his bottom. From here the trail climbs steeply to Hinterfultigen: a cheese factory, a restaurant, a school, a couple of farms and homes - for the Swiss this place is synonymous with provincialism. For hikers and visitors this agricultural village has a natural charm. Now follow the road towards Vorderfultigen.

After leaving the Riedstettwald behind, the scenery changes dramatically: whereas previously the hills of Black Soil Burger dominated the landscape, the view now falls on all the Gantrisch in all their glory.

A slight descent takes now to Rüeggisberg, the end point of the tour.
