We interviewed Ludmilla, the soul and founder of Valtidone Verde, to find out what lies behind the success of this special place.
The spark of sustainability
“Since I was a child, I had the dream of being able to produce everything myself and for me nature has always been a source of strong regeneration. Seeing how the man destroys it makes me very sad and in my little one I try to safeguard it as much as possible”, says Ludmilla. A deep connection with nature has turned into a concrete project of sustainable living and hospitality.

What aspects do you consider fundamental in your eco-sustainability journey?
I grew up with a mother who was already sensitive to these issues and a primary school teacher who encouraged us to collect plastic waste we found around. Born in the city, I gradually spent more time outdoors until I eventually settled in a mountain community.
My journey has been one of both environmental awareness and faith. Humanity is an integral part of an ecosystem, carrying a profound responsibility to care for the planet that sustains us.
How would you describe your ideal “eco-traveler” host?
The ideal host? A person who not only loves nature but who wants to make experiences, discover the territory, enjoy slower times, curious and enthusiastic about the beauty that this place can offer.

What is the most significant review you have received and what made it special?
Not just being a welcoming host, but having contributed to creating unforgettable memories. It’s always meaningful to leave a lasting impression on someone’s life.

One of the myths to be dispelled is the idea that sustainability is always expensive. But can eco-sustainability also be economical?
It’s simply a matter of organization. While it may not always seem “convenient,” it can actually become more cost-effective by making your own detergents and optimizing energy consumption.
Living sustainably is not only possible—it can also be more budget-friendly.
What were the most popular green initiatives?
Harnessing solar energy through solar thermal and photovoltaic systems, combined with elegantly designed windows that maximize natural heating.
The joy of milling flour together, which is then transformed into naturally leavened bread for a wholesome breakfast.

How do the values and projects of Ecobnb resonate with those of your structure?
From the very beginning, Valtidone Verde’s journey has been closely intertwined with that of Ecobnb.
We started together, and I immediately felt a strong connection because I wholeheartedly embraced your values—they are also mine. I saw the brilliance of your idea and knew it would be a valuable support for my project.
