ITACA' Festival of Responsible Tourism

IT.A.CÀ - Migrants and Travelers...

IT.A.CÀ - Migrants and Travelers is the first and only Italian festival dedicated to responsible tourism. The event, promoted by YODA, COSPE and NEXUS, was born in Bologna in 2009 with the aim of promoting a new ethics of tourism that favors a sustainable and social development of the territories.

During these years, the festival has gained greater and greater success and in the various editions it has developed in Emilia Romagna, and now involves many Italian destinations also outside of the boundaries of the region.

The initiative, through the many organized events, talks about traveling not as a mere holiday or leisure time, but as a deep experience, of knowledge and discovery of the world, close and far from home.

Hence the name of the festival: the responsible travel starts from home and ends at home (ît a cà = you are at home in Bologna dialect).

The various editions of IT.A.CÀ - Migrants and travelers are characterized not only by conferences with important speakers, but also by a series of events, conceived as moments of encounter and confrontation to reflect, critically, on the concept of travel and hospitality, offering the opportunity to live firsthand experiences of sustainable tourism to discover the territory.

Exhibitions, entertainments in the town’s square, guided tours and bike tours, shows, trekking with donkeys, workshops and tastings show to citizens and operators how it is possible to change the world of tourism, making it environmentally friendly and respectful for the local community.
