The Dino Island, along the islet of Cirella, is the only island present in the territory of Calabria. It emerges, very close to the coast, opposite to the beach of Praia a Mare.

Its name comes from the temple that once stood there, maybe consecrated to Leucotea. Along its 3 km perimeter you don't find beaches, but beautiful caves, such as the Cave of the Leo, named for the shape of a rock inside.

The north side of the island is a rock wall high up to 70 m, ending in the sea with a cliff. On top of the so-called Gable, it is a Norman watchtower. The south side of the island slopes gently and also welcomes the Blue Grotto, with an unique luster given to it by the light that creeps in.
