In Altenbeken the railway is a real gem and the railroad tradition can be experienced at first hand in an exciting way.

The structures of the station, the Gleisdreieck, the tunnel Rehberg and the Museum of the steam engine in the city center, create a special atmosphere, which is complemented by the impressive viaducts, with its high arches, and its lights.

Here in Altenbeken our path starts in the viaduct, which is, incidentally, completely and clearly signposted in both directions. Unforgettable landscapes that combine nature, culture and history, among soft meadows, trails and nature trails.

The monastery, cafes and beer gardens along the way invite you to take a rest.

From the mountains and from the viewing platform above Altenbeken you can enjoy the best view. Not only for lovers of photography, this railway is a real highlight!
