A very interesting itinerary steeped in nature, among ferns, flowing water, rock and coolness of the forest

  • Our Advice: Indicated especially when it's hot to cool off and regenerate. Short route for those with little time, but that want to get in contact with nature.

Gorge

Coming from Paularo, near the cason "Da Nelut", we go down into the deep gorge of the river Chiarsò called Forra de Las Callas, a beautiful example of fluvial erosion. We climb up the river bed walking among the rocks and ferns. The calcareous walls are 200 meters high and create a really beautiful view. We follow the path CAI 442, on the left orographic bank of the stream, which guides us along the path that its sounds and noises.

Gorge

So far the path is fairly easy, but then you start to climb the highest part of the canyon, which is equipped with a steel cord. For this reason the path of Las Callas is recommended only for experienced hikers.

We return through the steep uphill path at the end of the ravine, that after about 300 meters connects with the trail marker CAI 442 which brings us back to square one. Do not forget your camera to photograph this indescribable spectacle of water, rocks and vegetation.
