Love for nature never goes on holiday. This is the title of the article in Natural Style that highlights Ecobnb’s commitment to greener, more mindful tourism
In the August 2025 issue, Natural Style magazine features an in-depth report on sustainable and slow tourism, interviewing five Italian women who are working daily to promote a more conscious, ethical, and environmentally respectful way of traveling. Among them is Silvia Ombellini, founder of Ecobnb.

Green travel is no longer an option; it’s a necessity
In 2024, Italy set a new tourism record: 458.4 million overnight stays, with more than 89 million international visitors. But how can we handle these extraordinary numbers without compromising the health of our ecosystems? That’s the question at the heart of Natural Style’s investigation, offering practical advice and concrete visions to face this challenge.
From reusable water bottles to biodegradable sunscreens, and eco-friendly accommodations, the experts share how to make summer lighter on the planet. Sustainable tourism is no longer a luxury — it’s an urgent need.
The article, titled “Love for Nature Never Goes on Holiday”, is written by journalists Diana de Marsanich and Elisa Venco.
Interview with Silvia Ombellini: “From glamping to yurts, I promote slow travel”
Silvia Ombellini shares the story of how Ecobnb was born, a platform that now features over 3,500 eco-friendly accommodations worldwide, including more than 2,000 in Italy. “Ten years ago, together with Simone Riccardi and Carla Soffritti, we created a network for travelers who, like us, wanted to stay in places that respect the environment,” Silvia explains.

Ecobnb accommodations must meet at least five of the ten established environmental criteria, including:
- 100% renewable energy use,
- organic and local food,
- water conservation,
- eco-friendly cleaning products,
- car-free accessibility.
Tips for a slow and authentic summer
Silvia suggests three destinations for those who want to avoid the crowds and reconnect with nature:
- Sagna Rotonda (Cuneo, Piedmont): an eco-friendly village in the Maira Valley, nestled in the Cottian Alps.
- Glamping Il Sole (Grosseto, Tuscany): offering glamping options and yurts surrounded by greenery.
- Lama di Luna (Andria, Puglia): an organic farm among olive groves and vineyards in the heart of the Murge.

“Today it’s essential to rediscover slower tourism that values small towns surrounded by nature, away from overcrowded circuits,” Silvia emphasizes in the interview.
The future of travel is sustainable
Alongside Silvia, Natural Style features extraordinary women leading change in the sector, such as Chiara Bau, mountain ranger and guardian, Laura Montesanti, founder of Sinergy The Retreat Show, and other professionals committed to conscious tourism.

The message is clear: respect for the environment should never take a vacation.
