The Hudičevec Vacation Farm
Family-friendly vacation farm located in idyllic countryside. Taste our organic home-made food, relax with the lovely farm animals and observe the charming mountain view. Our specialty is home-baked bread and traditional Slovenian desserts.
Our family is very large, we have fourteen members and each of us actively helps out on the farm.
Our vacation farm offers 2 suites for up to 9 people and 7 rooms with a different number of beds.
The suites can accommodate up to 9 people on a total surface of around 80 m2. They both consist of a kitchen, pantry, living room with a couch, two bedrooms (4 beds – double bed + bunk bed; and 3 beds – bunk bed + single bed), bathroom and an additional lavatory. The suites also have a balcony and a covered terrace. The kitchen is fully equipped, with a stove and oven, all the necessary kitchenware, refrigerator, microwave oven, electric kettle, and dishwasher. The living room has a sofa bed and a television set.
We also offer two double rooms (king-size bed), two double rooms with an extra bed, two double rooms with a bunk bed and a room with just a bunk bed. All rooms are equipped with TV, SAT-TV, INTERNET access and a bathroom with a shower and toilet. All furniture is made of alder. In the lobby, there is a large table for evening socializing and computer equipment for the free use of the Internet.
In addition to accommodation, our farm also offers various dishes for up to 60 people at a time. A special emphasis is placed on dishes made of meat from organically raised animals. Besides meat, we also make soups, rolls with a variety of fillings, numerous vegetable dishes and traditional Slovenian desserts (potica, cheese rolls, pies, etc.). You'll be seduced by the smell and taste of the homemade bread made in a wood-fired oven.
We love animals and our farm is a true delight as there are horses, cows, sheep and donkeys. Early risers can even enjoy a view of grazing deer right from their balconies. If you like tradition and cultural heritage, you will be pleased to know that the farm also offers a visit of the facilities of the former mill and sawmill that host a collection of old farming tools, some military equipment and a variety of other interesting things that were once used in the everyday life of the farm.
We'll be happy to help you with the first-hand advice about the tourist sights nearby. This area is known by the rich karstic underground world, therefore we recommend visit to the Postojna Cave, the Predjama Castle and the Škocjan Caves. The world-renowned Lipica Stud Farm with the esteemed Lipizzaner horses is a short drive away as well. Hikers can head up to Nanos, Vremščica, Slavnik or Snežnik.
