Quinta Tranquila is situated in a beautiful river valley close to the wild Atlantic coast and the award winning beach at Odeceixe, South West Portugal. Quinta Tranquila offers comfortable accommodation for 2-4 people in a restored hilltop farmhouse
Quinta Tranquila is a restored traditional Portuguese house, tucked into a bend on the river Seixe; which enters the sea at the beautiful award winning beach at Odeceixe, just ten km away.
The house, featuring half metre thick rammed-earth walls is powered by a large solar electric system and is supplied with solar hot water. The house has been renovated by Robin and Cate using many low environmental impact and upcycled materials. It provides a cool respite from the warmth of summer.
The setting is extremely calm and rich in flora and fauna. It covers 2.3 hectares of hillside and water meadows with the riverbank as it's border with the Alentejo province.
The river runs all year with and is clean and deep enough to enjoy a refreshing dip. The plot is surrounded by natural woods and small scale farming.
The house is located ideally for those wishing to enjoy the wild Atlantic coast or to soak up the peace of the countryside, connect with nature or access the Rota Vicentina wallking trail network.
Amenities
Accommodation comprises 1 double bedroom with king sized bed, 1 open plan living area with double sofa bed, kitchen area and bathroom with over bath shower and wc.
Outside there is a large terrace with seating.
There is also limited internet access via wifi.
In order to maintain the natural views, parking is 20m from house accessed by a short steep track.
Location
The house is accessed by a 500m track from the tarmac road.
As Quinta Tranquila is a rural property, guests are advised that some form of transport is recommended. Various supermarkets,shops, cafes, a petrol station and restaurants are a 10 minute drive away in the villages of Odeceixe and Rogil.

Check out is at 11am

After entering the "muddy-road" to the Quinta Tranquila, our adventure begun.
We met a lovely couple, who raised a beautiful home and an accommodation for people, who like the nature and the tranquility.
Rob and Cate helped with every matter, whether information about Odeceixe and surroundings, the best beaches and restaurants, or to celebrate a birthday! (Thanks again ;)).
You can explore the area around the wonderful lake, go for a swim, chill out in the hammock, sit in your lounger on the terrace and enjoy the view above several flowers, plants and trees.
The Quinta Tranquila is well equipped. You can easily prepare your breakfast or dinner (little skills to handle gas stove plate and oven needed :D).
The bed is very comfortable and prepared with a mosquito-net, just in case there are some.
If you enjoy tranquility and the nature, this is the perfect place for you. Cate and Rob created something special and beautiful and we're really glad we found this hidden paradise!
