Discover the magic of Abrantes, strategically perched on a hilltop overlooking the Tagus River. Staying at our home means immersing yourself in the history of a city that once stood as a "sentinel of the kingdom," where medieval alleys and flower-adorned facades hold centuries of secrets.
The rehabilitation of this house in the historic center of Abrantes took into account the traditional and natural techniques and materials available in the region. Materials such as wood, earth, lime, and cork were used and combined with contemporary materiales and design for practical confort.
The lighting is energy-efficient, and the central heating and cooling of the entire house, as well as the production of hot water, is done with a heat pump. Our electricity supplier is a cooperative in Portugal that strongly invests in renewable energy.
The house is located on a very quiet street, on one of the oldest streets in the historic center of Abrantes, and our guests greatly appreciate the silence, the comfort of the space, and the view of the Castle valley and its gardens.
It is a 5-minute walk from the Castle, Museums and various local shops, cafes, restaurants and mini-markets. The street is quiet and has free parking.
The building, which is divided into two apartments, has a common entrance and a laundry room on the ground floor with a washing machine and dryer.
A wooden staircase leads to the next floor, where the duplex apartment is located.
The cooling / heating and hot water are assured by a heat pomp.
The living room, kitchen and bathroom are in the lower floor of the apartment.
The living room and kitchen share an open and spacious area. The kitchen, with modern and functional lines, has a comfortable table for 4 people and is fully equipped with an induction hob, microwave oven, dishwasher, coffee machine (biodegradable capsules) or french press, toaster, and electric kettle.
The living room has a 3-seater sofa and a single sofa.
The bathroom has a shower, toilet, and bidet suspended. Shampoo and shower gel are available in the shower. Our detergents, shampoos, and liquid soap are bought in bulk.
On the upper floor are the bedroom and the terrace.
The bedroom has a large wardrobe, a small table with two chairs, and a 160 cm wide bed. There is space for a travel cot if needed.
The terrace is equipped with a parasol and two outdoor sofas.
The apartment has a smart TV, Wi-Fi, and central heating/cooling.
If your stay is longer than one week, cleaning and a change of sheets and towels per week will be included in the price.
