Orongo Bay Homestead
Organic 50 years plus, the coastal historic homestead in New Zealand's sub-tropical bay of Islands has a strong environmental commitment with organic gardens/cuisine, park-like grounds, elegance and privacy. Coastal boardwalk or 5 mins drive to town
ORONGO BAY HOMESTEAD is known as the historic-listed First American Consulate in New Zealand, dating back to the 1860's. The fully-restored, two-storeyed wooden Homestead is now an exclusive country residence with fine wine and renowned cuisine. Sequestered in fifteen acres of lawns, native bush and certified organic gardens, it enjoys views across the jade waters of New Zealand's sub tropical Bay of Islands to the Waitangi Treaty grounds. Guests are accommodated in three distinctly individual, native and sustainable wood-panelled rooms with private entries and ensuite bathrooms.
