AMUURA Beach House
A unique homestay, situated in a spacious, green garden right on the beachfront of Beruwala on Sri Lanka's sunny west coast with an almost private beach. A big, lush garden with hammocks hanging between palm trees offers the perfect relaxation spot.
Situated directly at the unspoiled beachfront of Beruwala with no "touristic life" around this is the perfect place to truly relax and experience the real Sri Lankan life!
Our home was designed and built by ourselves and it was very important for us to only use high-quality and natural materials. Most of our furniture is self designed and locally handmade.
All wooden works in our home are made out of jack, mahogany, teak or para mara, a native Sri Lankan tree and treated with nothing else than natural bees wax, as we want to avoid artificial materials like paint and varnish as much as possible.
Our natural bamboo bedsheets almost feel like silk. For breakfast we use silver cutlery and antique tableware. The house is surrounded by a big garden, with hammocks and deckchairs to relax.
Please be aware, that we do not have air-condition and no attached bathrooms in our rooms as it is not in accordance with our opinion of a sustainable and responsible lifestyle!
On our first floor, where our five guestrooms are situated, there is a bathroom with 3 showers and separate toilets. The toilet is a composting toilet to save water and produce compost for our vegetables in the garden :-) Please check out the photos!
