The Inspiration
The name Villa Naumanni comes from the Lesser Kestrel (scientifically Naumanni), a protected species that nests in the cavities of the farmhouse's walls. The farmhouse's renovation focused on every detail, preserving the nests found and creating new ones, including the creation of small holes inside the structure to monitor the chicks.
We are home to the only colony of Lesser Kestrels in Lazio, which, from a single nesting pair in 2011, has grown to 27 pairs by 2025.

The decision to transform a traditional Italian villa into an eco-sustainable accommodation facility stems from a deep love of nature and an awareness of the impact the tourism industry can have on the environment.
The main building, a 19th-century stone farmhouse, underwent a complete restoration after 40 years of neglect. It uses recycled materials (beams, trusses, wood, terracotta tiles, bricks, and stone), local materials (stone, earth, and timber), energy-saving technologies (windows, wood/pellet fireplace, condensing boiler, LED lighting only, motion sensors, and energy-efficient A++ appliances, as well as a solar thermal system), and environmentally friendly technologies (a septic tank, rainwater collection tanks, and septic tanks).

L’inspirazione
Il nome Villa Naumanni viene dal Falco Grillaio (termine scientifico Naumanni), una specie protetta che nidifica nelle cavità delle pareti del casale. La ristrutturazione del casale ha curato in ogni singolo dettaglio la conservazione dei nidi trovati e la creazione di nuovi nidi con l’apertura di rezzo fori interni alla struttura per il monitoraggio dei pulcini
Ospitiamo l’unica colonia di falchi grillai nel Lazio che, da una coppia nidificante nel 2011, siamo arrivati ad ospitare 27 coppie nel 2025.

La scelta di rendere una villa tradizionale Italiana in una struttura ricettiva eco-sostenibile nasce da un profondo amore per la nature e la consapevolezza dell’impatto che l’industria turistica possa avere sull’ambiente.
All’edificio principale, un casale in pietra del XIX° secolo, dopo 40 anni di abbandono, sono state eseguite opera di restauro completo utilizzando materiali di recupero (travi, capriate, legno, tavelle in cotto, mattoni, pietra), materiali del posto (pietra, terra, legname), tecnologie per il risparmio energetico (infissi, termocamino legna/pellet, caldaia a condensazione, solo luci a led, sensori di movimento, ed elettrodomestici classe A++, impianto solare termico), tecnologie per la cura dell’ambiente (fossa settica di fitodepurazione, serbatoi per il recupero dell’acqua piovana e delle fosse).
Villa Naumanni è dotata di un impianto di depurazione dell’acqua necessario per ridurre il utilizzo di acqua in bottiglie di plastica.
Scegliere di soggiornare in una struttura green permette di ridurre l’enorme impatto che hanno le strutture alberghiere sull’ambiente.

Le camere sono caratterizzate da atmosfere colorate e calde prendendo spunto dalle stagioni che ognuna rappresenta.
In tutte le camere trovate grandi pareti in pietra e tetto con travi a vista con altezze fino a 6mt. Ogni camera è dotata di un bagno privato con la doccia.

We were "guests" of this property this weekend..
Given that we chose it because they are available to welcome animals (we have two Chiwawas and the older dog has some health problems, they are polite, they do everything in their sleeper and if they are not bothered they do not cause any disturbance) and agreed by message with the owner to be able to leave the dogs in the room during the hottest hours of the day when we were inside the structure (which in any case would not have been possible as the b&b uses electronic cards and not keys: cards which, once extracted, remove the current to the room and therefore do not allow the air conditioners to be kept on). In order not to bring the small dogs into the common lawn with the high temperatures of this period (40 degrees in the shade), my partner and I were (NOT) welcomed by Mr. Roberto, who was haughty and somewhat annoyed at seeing the dogs. , instead of paying attention to our welcome and accommodation, he kept us explaining about the behaviors we had to keep with the dogs inside the structure, listing a revisable regulation:
- Dogs always with their owner;
- Dogs are prohibited from barking;
- Dogs cannot bother other guests;
- Above all they couldn't stay alone in the room away from the heat.

Forced by the sergeants to take the "wild animals" out to dinner, we had to stress them after the trip to follow us to a restaurant in Tarquinia. Our dogs are used to and calm in the room, however due to the strict "rules" we had to stress them further.

The room is small compared to the dimensions perceived on the website (a warning from the owners would have been appreciated knowing that we were two adults and two dogs). Having booked 3 months in advance they could easily accommodate us in another room.
It was not possible to rest (comfortable beds) but the soundproofing was terrible, as we could hear the neighbor coughing continuously even after midnight.
We were unable to watch TV as it was connected to the internet which was not available.
The icing on the cake was the following morning, even though the internet was not yet available and TIM was not available, armed with every good intention of TRYING to spend the day at the pool with the dogs, we took them down with us for breakfast (as per the rules).
In order not to disturb the other guests (3 people) of our own free will we decide to place ourselves in the external covered gazebo, from there the owner's cat circulates freely between the tables where food should be consumed, while our dogs and their who can calmly bark🤣 (OUR FIRST BARK IN 24 HOURS) both owners get annoyed, they made us feel unwelcome and second class guests.
At dawn in the morning we left, not taking advantage of the day and night that we had paid for in advance, they didn't refund us anything, but told us to come back anyway... too bad we always have our friends with us 🤭
All this to say, that there is no problem in being against animals in the facility, but if they are accepted then you must be prepared to do so without reservations and leave them free to be animals.

Siamo stati "ospiti" di questa struttura questo weekend..
Premesso di averla scelta in quanto disponibili ad accogliere gli animali, (abbiamo due chiwawa e il cane più anziano ha qualche problemino di salute, che sono educati, fanno tutto nella loro traversina e se non vengono infastiditi non danno alcun disturbo) e concordato per messaggi con la proprietaria di poter lasciare i canetti in stanza nelle ore più calde della giornata quando noi eravamo all'interno della struttura (cosa che cmq nn sarebbe stata possibile in quanto il b&b utilizza tessere elettroniche e non chiavi: tessere che una volta estratte tolgono la corrente alla stanza e non permettono di mantenere quindi i climatizzatori accesi). Per non portare i piccoli canetti nel prato comune con le temperature elevate di questo periodo ( 40 gradi all' ombra) , io e il mio compagno veniamo (NON) accolti dal signor Roberto, il quale con fare altezzoso e alquanto scocciato nel vedere i cani, invece di prestare attenzione alla nostra accoglienza e sistemazione, ci ha tenuto a elarguirci sui comportamenti che dovevamo tenere con i cani all' interno della struttura elencando un rivedibile regolamento:
- Cani sempre con il padrone;
- Ai cani è vietato abbaiare;
- I cani non possono dare fastidio agli altri ospiti;
- Soprattutto non potevano rimanere soli in stanza al riparo dal caldo.

Costretti dai sergenti a portarci a cena fuori le "belve", abbiamo dovuto stressarli dopo il viaggio a seguirci in un ristorante di Tarquinia. I nostri cagnolini sono abituati e tranquilli in stanza, invece per le " regole" rigide li abbiamo dovuti stressare ulteriormente.

La stanza è piccola rispetto alle dimensioni che si percepiscono dal sito (sarebbe stato gradito un avviso dai proprietari sapendo che eravamo due adulti e due cani). Avendo prenotato con 3 mesi di anticipo potevano benissimo sistemarci in un'altra stanza.
Non ci è stato possibile riposare (letti comodi) ma insonorizzazione pessima, in quanto si sentiva il vicino tossire in continuazione anche dopo la mezzanotte.
Non ci è stato possibile guardare la TV in quanto collegata ad internet che non era disponibile.
Ciliegina sulla torta la mattina seguente, nonostante internet non fosse ancora disponibile e TIM non prendesse, armati di ogni buona intenzione di PROVARE a passare la giornata in piscina con i cani, li portiamo giù con noi per la colazione ( come da regole).
Per non dare fastidio agli altri ospiti (3 persone) di nostra spontanea volontà decidiamo di metterci nel gazebo coperto esterno, di lì circola liberamente il gatto della proprietaria tra i tavoli dove si dovrebbe consumare il cibo, all' abbiaiare dei nostri cagnolini e dei loro che possono tranquillamente abbaiare🤣 ( IL PRIMO ABBAIO DELLE 24 ORE DEI NOSTRI) entrambi i proprietari si stizziscono , ci hanno fatto sentire non graditi e ospiti di serie B.
All ' alba della mattina siamo andati via, non usufruendo per nulla della giornata e nottata che avevamo pagato in anticipo, non ci hanno rimborsato nulla, ma detto cmq di tornare...peccato che abbiamo i nostri amici sempre con noi 🤭
Tutto questo per dire, che non c'è nessun problema a essere contrari agli animali in struttura, ma se poi vengono accettati bisogna essere predisposti a farlo senza riserve e lasciarli liberi di essere animali.

Per i vostri cani ok, la regola è che non possono rimanere incustoditi
Nel giorno del check-out potete rimanere in piscina, senza costi aggiuntivi, fino alle 13. La camera invece deve essere liberata alle 11”
“ Ma quando siamo in piscina, li possiamo lasciare in camera o dobbiamo portarle con noi?”
“ Anche loro possono accedere all’area piscina
Comunque possono restare in camera quando siete in piscina solo se sono tranquilli, non disturbano gli altri ospiti e non creano danni”
Non c’è stato niente di diverso da questi messaggi a quello che vi è stato detto al vostro arrivo.
Il fatto di voler andare a cena senza portare i vostri amici non era previsto dall’inizio, non capisco quando è diventato un nostro problema, e perché lo stress nel portarli con voi ci viene attribuito.
Siamo dotati di una buona connessione WiFi che, in campagna come in città a volte può avere dei problemi. Ci dispiace ma non è un servizio che dipende da noi e non abbiamo il potere per intervenire.
Quando si sceglie di alloggiare in una struttura in campagna si deve far conto con la presenza di alcuni animali. SI, la nostra gatta sta nel giardino, niente di così strano, anche perché non sta sui tavoli o sulle sedie ma semplicemente nel giardino. I nostri cani SI abbaiano pure, ma non sono a contatto con gli ospiti, stanno nel loro giardino ben lontani, senza arrecare alcun disturbo.
Abbiamo parlato prima della vostra partenza che, almeno per quanto da voi detto, era attribuita alla mancanza della rete WiFi necessaria per il vostro lavoro.
Ci siamo scusati ed invitato a ritornare per scontare i giorni pagati. Ci avete assicurato del vostro ritorno, senza lamentarvi di tutto ciò che ora state scrivendo
A noi dispiace veramente perché non abbiamo mai avuto problemi con altri ospiti, moltissimi, che scelgono di passare le vacanze da noi insieme ai loro amici a 4 zampe. Abbiamo trascorso tre bellissimi giorni. B&b in posizione tranquilla sede di falchi migratori. Roberto e Laura sono carinissimi e molto disponibili ci hanno proposto un ottimo cibo tutto biologico. Camera e spazi accoglienti e molto puliti. Ci siamo sentiti come in famiglia. Grazie mille.
