A self-managed farmhouse, immersed in the greenery of the Beigua Regional Park, in the unique and mythical meeting place in Italy between the Alps, the Apennines, the plain and the sea. The refuge is located along the connecting routes to the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri, a stone's throw from the beautiful and renowned historic center of Sassello.

The structure is open all year round. In the winter months, advance notice is required.
It is suitable for hosting large groups (in the "Sciverna Media" structure with 5 rooms with bunk beds and 3 shared bathrooms) such as scouts, school groups, communities and day centers.

The structure, located between the hills and pastures of the Apennines, is an old farmhouse renovated respecting the original shapes and construction materials, with the reuse in the furnishings of elements recovered and adapted to new needs and particular creations of the managers.

Around the buildings that make up the structure there is a large lawn area, a garden designed using mostly wild and native plants, with the harmonious insertion of some ornamental species. Ornamenting everything, and an integrated part of the life of the Refuge, are its "Collective Gardens" both traditional and synergic. Here you can collect your own food at km 0!

It is the ideal starting point for excursions in the Sassellese, in the Beigua Park in particular to the Deiva forest and Lago dei Gulli, up to the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri.

Eco-sustainable hospitality, but also spaces for laboratories, workshops, events, themed days, excursions and gardens, creativity and planning of opportunities for meeting and exchange between people. In the spirit of a necessary apprenticeship in the art of living and according to a secular interpretation of “ora et labora”, meditation and work mark and will mark the time of the guests of the refuge, who together with its managers and registered members will collaborate in achieving the objectives established in the statute of Cascina Granbego.

The Association organizes workshops and laboratories for adults and children such as "How to make bread" and "How to make a vegetable garden". The association “Cascina Granbego” member of Arci has been managing the Hiking Refuge “La Sciverna” since July 2014. The ancient name Sciverna, “to keep in reserve during the winter”, indicates the value of custody and care in difficult times like the current ones. The Cascina Granbego staff proposes, with this management, to return the ancient places to their original names and to dedicate the spaces of the Rifugio La Sciverna to the development of their idea of freedom, of taking care of themselves and others, of defending the environment and tradition, but with an eye to the future.
