Think global and act locally
If you are looking for tranquility and simplicity, away from the hectic pace of the city, this is the place for you.
Located at the foot of the Iblei Mountains between Comiso and Chiaramonte Gulfi, the B&B is located on a hill and is surrounded by 4 hectares of meadows, olive trees, almond trees, carob trees and many other trees planted and cared for over the years on a land that otherwise it would be barren and arid. With its peace and beautiful sunsets it is the ideal place for travelers looking for harmony with nature and contact with people and the place. Protected from the dangers of the roads, it is perfect for families and children.
The B&B is a small house with a private bathroom and a sunny terrace with a panoramic view. Made up of a single room, the house has 5 beds: one single and one double on the ground floor and two singles in a mezzanine. For heating there is a wood stove (for prolonged heating) and a gas stove (for instant heating).
"Think global and act local" is our motto .... even in the kitchen. Whenever possible we use products from our garden and our land, local and organic and from a fair trade. Breakfast is homemade from our bread and our jams.
A large and well-stocked kitchen is available to guests of the B&B in sharing with the other inhabitants of Case Caro Carrubo. On request we cook vegetarian dishes inspired by the Sicilian tradition.
Case Caro Carrubo is based on a continuous search for sustainable ways of living. This is why we have chosen the sun as our primary source of energy: grid-independent photovoltaics and hot water from solar collectors. This means producing a lower impact on the environment by using resources more carefully and consciously.
Earth, stone, trees and herbs invite our guests to a deep contact with nature and our daily rural life.
The Iblei Mountains invite offer interesting possibilities for excursions on foot or by bicycle (available at the B&B). Ragusa, Ibla, Modica and the sea can be reached by car in 30 minutes. From Comiso the main destinations of Sicily can be reached by train or bus. The two closest international airports are located in Catania and Comiso.
The B&B is equipped with convenient parking but if you decide not to rent a car and arrive by public transport we can arrange a place to come and pick you up on your arrival.

we had a wonderful stay at case caro carrubo. the location lies extremely quiet and beautiful on a hill of almond trees and thyme where we could pick flowers, fresh herbs and wild salads. we really enjoyed the simplicity of life here - Renate is a very warm and inspirering woman to talk to. She made us feel like home- told us about the area and the challanges of the region- while living a uniquely modest life. i feel we became more aware of the way we live and how easily we get detached from nature. I deeply recommend this place (in case you travel in winter bring very warm clothes)

Renate and the other people made us feel very welcome! They can tell everything about the area and places to visit. It is a beautiful place with many fruit, nut, and olive trees, herbs, a friendly dog and cats. The house is very comfortable and clean with nice little details, and you have superb views and sunsets. They make use of sustainable products and renewable energy. We had a very nice stay!!

Assolutamente consigliato!
