Bio B&B in Maremma vicino al mare

Il Giardino dei Sugheri is a late 19th century farmhouse surrounded by greenery adjacent to the wood, among olive trees, cork oaks and aromatic plants. We have restructured it with completely natural products, following the ethics of no waste. For the masonry we have chosen natural biological, antibacterial and anti-mould lime. We are committed to being independent from the point of view of energy needs, so we have chosen to install a photovoltaic system. As regards the supply of water, on the other hand, we have thought of a rainwater recovery plan, with the installation of special purification plants.

These are important attentions for us, because it is from this type of choice that respect for the environment is achieved in practice.

Well-being also passes through the senses such as sight and touch, so we have favored hypoallergenic neutral colors both for the walls, without silicone paints, and for the furnishings, choosing fabrics such as pure linen or natural fibers for curtains, blankets and towels. The furnishings of the farmhouse were designed and handmade by a craftsman who has taken up and updated the style of the old Maremma.

A relaxed and familiar atmosphere awaits you. We don't like to think of it as a hotel: at the Giardino dei Sugheri you will be like family and for you there will be only genuine advice designed especially for you on the best restaurants or itineraries for your stay in Maremma.

The sleeping area is a comfortable and relaxing environment, with neutral colors and materials.

Each room has its own bathroom, a very large shower with a relaxation jet and a window overlooking the panorama. The country furniture of the past is revisited with pastel colors and hand-decorated by local artisans.

The Cork Garden is a multi-level living garden: tables and deck chairs surrounded by plants, located in different points; to each guest his privacy and his corner of peace.

Leaving the state road, you start walking along a dirt path that leads you into nature: the dust of the pavement, the olive color of the olive groves in the fields, the white of a flock of sheep that interrupts the pass, the yellow of the broom in May… and finally, after about 1 km on the hill, the red of the farmhouse: it is the Cork Garden. Once through the gate, the large cork oak welcomes you with its branches wide open.

You walk on the warm earth, listen to the cicadas, the crickets and the rustle of the wind. The view is lost in the Maremma scrub, the sense of smell amidst the aromatic scents and the sea breeze. You are in your dimension: slow down, relax, get in touch with yourself.
