Il Sanco casa vacanze nella natura
The holiday home "Il sanco" is immersed in the pastures and woods of eastern Lessinia, a land of centuries-old culture and a magically still intact place, close to the Lessinia Natural Park and the fossils of Bolca.
Sanco is a district of eastern Lessinia near San Bartolomeo delle Montagne (San Bortolo) in the municipality of Selva di Progno in the province of Verona. Sanco, which in the Veronese dialect means left-handed, has been translated into Zanco, an inexpressive toponym that, as often happens when names are Italianized, erases an important part of the history of the place.
Situated at 940 meters above sea level, it borders to the east with the Val d'Alpone and the Val del Chiampo (the latter in the province of Vicenza), to the north with the slopes of the Carega group (Monte Lobbia), to the west with the Val di Revolto and the Val d'Illasi and to the south with the ridge between the Val d'Illasi and the Val d'Alpone, at the top of which is Sprea. The district is composed of a single housing unit, largely renovated with historical-artistic conservative restoration works in an eco-sustainable way, conducted with environmentally friendly materials and techniques, to revive its original beauty and to guarantee a long life and full health of the wall structure.
The structure has three rooms, all with private bathroom. Sheets, blankets and pillows are provided, a set of towels with the possibility of changing (for a fee). They are all non-smoking, bright, equipped with free Wi-Fi.
The kitchen is a common space to share with other guests where it is possible to have breakfast, or prepare lunch and/or dinner. It offers all the necessary supplies, a coffee/cappuccino machine, a microwave oven and a small refrigerator, coffee, tea and herbal teas. Use of the kitchen is free.
Upon request, with advance notice, a hearty breakfast is offered in the morning for € 10 per person.
Upstairs there is a room with a window overlooking the woods, for reading, music and relaxation to be shared with other guests.
The outdoor patio offers a relaxing corner on the vegetation surrounding the structure.
A washing machine is available to guests, with a supply of detergent and fabric softener. Use is subject to a fee at the cost of
€5 per wash.
The place offers numerous possible naturalistic itineraries suitable for different needs. Furthermore, the structure is located a few kilometers away from the town of Bolca, a very famous historical-paleontological site and very rich fossil deposit.
From "Il sanco", in five minutes on foot, you can reach the square of San Bortolo where you can find a bar with tobacconist service, a pizzeria-restaurant and a restaurant-trattoria.
