Ancient farmhouse recently renovated with natural materials and in the criteria of sustainable architecture that combines design, tradition and respect for the environment. Immersed in a countryside known for its rolling hills guarded by medieval villages.
The farmhouse can accommodate up to 6 people in 3 bedrooms:
a very private double bedroom (160x200cm) with independent entrance, terrace with view and private bathroom; one with 2 single beds (90x200cm); one with 2 single beds that can be joined into a double (180x200cm). The last two have a shared bathroom.
On the ground floor, the comfortable living room, the study and the spacious and practical kitchen, plus a service bathroom, open onto the garden.
Everything is surrounded by greenery, surrounded by a fenced-in 2000 m2 garden where there is a rich vegetable garden and a pergola under which a large dining table is positioned.
The house has been designed to welcome guests in an intimate, comfortable and environmentally friendly environment. The intention is to minimize the use of polluting substances and disposable plastics, in fact the drinking water that is offered to you comes from nearby sources and is in returnable glass bottles; food waste is composted and transformed into fertilizer for the organic garden made available to you to prepare healthy and delicious meals.
In the house there is an air of harmony and culture thanks to the numerous books, contemporary art paintings and antique family furniture.
MISCELLANEOUS INFO
Plants installed:
hot/cool underfloor heating system that gives a homogeneously distributed ideal climate,
air purifier (VMC - controlled mechanical ventilation) which makes the common areas healthy even with the windows closed,
dehumidifiers,
thermostats in every room,
3 on/off switches to simultaneously turn off Wi-Fi and connected devices (for energy saving).
43-inch LG Smart TV with SKY subscription (no sports, no kids); on request, an additional 22-inch LG Smart TV connected to the DT can be installed in a bedroom.
The service staff will be present daily (with discretion), Matteo for the garden and maintenance and a cleaner in the morning for the kitchen and living room and every 2 days for cleaning the bedrooms and bathrooms.
The linen is changed weekly.
Drinking water from nearby sources, empty to return, is included in the price.
Services not included and on request:
breakfast, lunch, dinner, BBQ prepared with typical products, mainly from neighboring farms and vegetables from the garden.
The house is located at 600m above sea level, facing south, in a very exclusive area of the Val d'Orcia, just below the village of Castiglioncello del Trinoro which houses the scattered hotel Hotel Monteverdi Tuscany, pleasant for a walk and an aperitif with a view on the valley.
Self-driving guests, we are not connected by public transport.
Keep in mind that to reach the house you have to travel about 8 km. of well-maintained dirt road.
Possibility to rent bicycles nearby.
Consider that we are in the open countryside, also inhabited by harmless insects and cats that could enter the house.
