Pernambucco was born from an ancient peasant house, totally renovated trying to maintain the original characteristics and materials. An oasis of peace to relax in the greenery and frugal tranquility of the countryside.
Pernambucco is located in the green valley of L'Aquila, with its fine vineyards, its lush palm trees and its orchards, with its castles and thousand-year-old churches, a 15-minute walk from Finalborgo, a medieval center that is part of the "most beautiful villages in Italy" and a 10-minute bike ride from the sea and the famous beaches of the Riviera, directly on the most beautiful paths of Finale and a 20-minute walk from the climbing cliffs, an hour's drive from the Ligurian Alps.
The Bed and Breakfast is located in an old farmhouse whose first construction dates back to the year 1000. The house was completely renovated in 2010, trying, where possible, to maintain the original characteristics and materials.
An oasis of peace, where by choice we have not brought the television, to allow our guests to "unplug" and relax in the frugal tranquility of the countryside.
After a day at the beach or playing sports, in the warm spring and summer evenings our guests can enjoy the sunset and then the starry nights on the magnificent terrace of the B&B, which overlooks Castel Govone and the thousand-year-old village of Perti.
At breakfast you can taste the excellent local specialties, and in the right season you can taste the special Pernambucco oranges, a future slow food presidium, which give the Bed and Breakfast its name and which are the typical fruit of this valley.
Breakfasts are served from 8 to 10 on the splendid terrace in the warm months, and in the large internal room in the cold months, in front of Castel Govone and the thousand-year-old churches of Perti, and include: fresh Pernambucco orange juices during the harvest periods, flavored waters, yogurt, special breads or focaccias, butter and homemade jams, local organic honey, croissants or cakes or typical sweets, various teas and herbal teas, milk and coffee, eggs and cheese on request.
All the products offered at Pernambucco come, where possible, from certified local producers at km 0.
On request, breakfasts for those who have to follow special diets, vegetarians and vegans.
Our kitchen has a large fridge and a microwave available to our guests. Even if it is not possible to cook, on request we provide plates, glasses and cutlery for those who want to have lunch or dinner consuming ready-made dishes on the terrace or in the living area.
IMPORTANT: to get to Pernambucco, after parking in via Aquila in a quiet area without a fee, you need to walk up a small hill of about 35 meters to get to our gate, from which a short cobblestone path and then two stairs lead to the inside of the B&B.
We do not have private parking, but parking in via Aquila is always possible.
The B&B can also be reached from the train station with a bus to Finalborgo and from there with a minibus that takes you to the Valle dell'Aquila. If you travel by bike, we have a shelter in our garden where you can keep them during your stay.
Pernambucco is not a suitable structure for people with walking problems or who quickly tire; it is instead ideal for sports people looking for a quiet place away from the most popular areas of Finale but at the same time quickly reachable.
We have a pair of very basic bikes that we lend to our guests who prefer to travel by this means, with which it is possible to reach the beaches easily since the road is almost all flat. Furthermore, in Finalborgo it is possible to rent various types of bikes, to tackle even longer or more challenging routes.
Giovanni, who runs the B&B with Margherita, is also an Alpine Guide and Canyoning Guide and, upon request, is available to accompany you to the most beautiful sites in the area for splendid climbs, trekking and via ferratas in the Finale area and ski mountaineering and mountaineering in the nearby Ligurian Alps. In the summer you can organize canyoning days starting directly from the B&B which provides all the necessary equipment.
From here you can start countless trekking and canyoning routes, mountaineering and ski mountaineering trips from which you can embrace with your gaze panoramas that go from Corsica to the Apuan Alps to the Central Alps.
But also beautiful walks suitable for adults and children on the karst plateaus of Finale, immersed in the Mediterranean scrub, on the trail of prehistoric man.
