We live immersed in nature and strive to preserve it as best we can, offering an eco-friendly and pleasant stay in the peace that surrounds us.
Among the rolling hills surrounding Gubbio, Ina•Maka (Mother Earth in the Lakota language) is a refuge that embraces the quiet and beauty of nature. The view that opens onto the mountains and the city offers moments of authentic enchantment, while the silence is interrupted only by the sounds of the forest and the animals that inhabit it. Despite being immersed in the countryside, the structure is just twenty minutes from the center of Gubbio and less than an hour from Perugia and Assisi.
Guests share the spaces with two dogs, three cats and some chickens, making the atmosphere even more familiar and welcoming. Pets are also welcome, with the recommendation to agree their presence in advance to ensure a peaceful stay for everyone.
The buffet breakfast (only for the 2 rooms) is entirely plant-based (vegan), prepared with ingredients that are as local and seasonal as possible, to be enjoyed in the large internal room or outdoors, with a view of the Umbrian landscape.
Coffee, herbal teas (also homemade), vegetable milk and yogurt, homemade cakes, biscuits, bread, peanut butter, jams, preserves (also homemade), fresh fruit, dried fruit, cereals, muesli, chickpea hummus and other products depending on the season.
Access to the house is via a short stretch of uphill dirt road, passable with normal cars.
Ina•Maka was born as a sustainable living project applying the principles of permaculture, with the aim of re-establishing an authentic balance between man and the environment. The ecological approach is reflected in the care of the greenery, left to grow spontaneously to encourage biodiversity.
The structure is powered by solar energy thanks to a photovoltaic system that provides electricity and hot water. Wastewater is purified naturally and reused for the vegetable garden and the food forest. Rainwater is also collected and treated to integrate that of the well, ensuring responsible use of resources.
Nothing is left to chance: every detail tells of the commitment to a lifestyle that respects the Earth, with objects recovered and reused in a creative way, according to the principles of the three Rs (Reduce, Recycle, Reuse). Ina•Maka is not just a place to sleep, but an experience that invites you to slow down and find an authentic contact with nature.
