Casa M is a lady whose stone walls have watched over the small town of Siddi, in the heart of the Marmilla region, for centuries. Its location is on the border between the green hills and the town center.
The old manor house, now Casa M, has been carefully restored with a conservative approach, using only natural materials, such as raw earth and lime for its plaster, and chestnut and juniper wood for its roofing.
Guests can enjoy a quiet space for a break from the hustle and bustle of the city. The internal courtyard, surrounded by high walls, is graced with climbing plants and flowers along the cobblestones. The interior spaces are naturally cool in summer thanks to the thick walls and plasterwork.
Our library, with titles in various languages, mostly Italian and English, is available to our guests. You can spend time in this quiet and pleasantly intimate room to recharge your batteries during the day.
Breakfast is served in the adjacent room, but weather permitting, it can also be enjoyed under the portico along the front of the property. The library and breakfast room overlook this portico and therefore the garden.
Breakfast, included in all our rates, is based on seasonal and local products. The flour for our bread and cakes comes from two mills a short distance from the village; the garden that produces our vegetables is less than a kilometer away and proudly does not use pesticides or unnatural fertilizers. We'll be happy to provide directions, or accompany you if you don't speak Italian; the owners will be equally happy to meet you.
Casa M is located a short distance from the most famous attractions in central Sardinia (the Giara plateau or the Su Nuraxi nuraghe in Barumini), but Siddi is fortunate to have its own small basalt plateau, "Su Pran 'e Siddi," which hosts a system of 16 nuraghes, some of which can be visited with a guide (for example, the "Sa Fogaia" nuraghe and park or the "Sa Domu 'e S' Orcu" Giants' Tomb). Completing the offerings, two minutes from Casa M are two museums: the Sardinian Ornithological Museum and the Steri House Museum, a 17th-century residence transformed into the Museum of Agri-food Traditions after careful restoration.
Casa M is also strategically located near a restaurant, also located in a historic villa, with which we collaborate for lunches and dinners. Siddi also has a delicious trattoria, just a few minutes' walk from Casa M.
Upon reservation, we can organize workshops or activities to discover how Marmilla's products are created and processed: its pasta varieties, its bread, but also the dyeing of wool with natural dyes, wine, and cheese. Our beverages are often fermented: kombucha or sodas are created in our kitchens. Please let us know in advance if you'd like a workshop to learn how to make and care for them. You can also take a starter with you to continue in your own kitchen.
If you arrive by car, there's convenient public parking at the back of the property.
We can put you in touch with transfers from Cagliari Elmas Airport, which is about 45 minutes away, or with chauffeured cars or minivans, upon reservation, to places of interest that aren't within walking distance.
