We have chosen to transform our home into a holiday home to welcome and accommodate the many travelers who wish to visit Matera with its Sassi and its surrounding territory (the Murgia plateau), rich in nature and history.
Rupe sui Sassi will envelop you in a hushed dimension with its exposed tuff vault, its traditional terracotta floor, its hand-made majolica tiles and will project you into a surreal dimension with its breathtaking view of the Sassi and in front of it. to the Murgia Materana Park.
There are two double bedrooms each with an adjoining bathroom, arranged on two levels. The living room - which also houses a comfortable sofa bed - incorporates the built-in kitchen island, with majolica tiles, and overlooks the belvedere terrace, a must of our holiday home. We are ready to bet that you will spend most of your time on this terrace, fascinated by the extraordinary beauty of the surrounding landscape. The environment is immersed in silence, muffled by the thick tuff walls (typical material of the constructions of the Sassi) and interrupted only by the sounds of the dominant nature (the roar of the Gravina stream below or the cry of swallows and lesser hawks that arrive in spring to nest between holes in walls or on roof tiles).
Check-in: after 3:00 pm self check-in is carried out with code to open the key box provided by phone or by email the day before arrival.
Check-out: the house must be vacated by 11:00.
All with flexibility and willingness to meet the needs of guests.
In the "Rupe sui Sassi" only one nucleus can stay at a time, this means that you will really feel free to use the structure as you wish, up to a maximum of six people.
Climate: The heating is autonomous, while in summer you can enjoy an unexpected natural coolness, characteristic of this type of construction.
Pets: It is possible to accommodate pets by paying a small deposit.
Car: Near the house, in Via Casalnuovo, there is a large square where it will not be difficult to find free parking for the car. Furthermore, in via Casalnuovo 158 there is a paid garage and a short distance away (about 400 m.), There is the garage in Via Pasquale Vena (for a fee - open 24/7). From July 2022 via Casalnuovo has become ZTL from 20.30 to 24.00 so that in that time slot it is not allowed to enter or park.

Perfect stay in Matera. Great location, right next to the Sassi, at the edge of the canyon, with the best view we had in all of the city. We stayed three nights and ate all our lunches and dinners on our terrace, because the view was so great (breakfast was unfortunately not possible, as there is no umbrella to shield the strong summer sun). Very quite despite the central location, you only hear the frogs from down the river at night. Fully equipped kitchen, even oil or salt are available, and you can use a washing machine. There are some open stairs in the apartment, thus if you travel with small kids you'll have to pay attention. I was a bit skeptical first that this accommodation didn't have any reviews, but I'm very happy that I still booked it. Would stay there again anytime!
