The Olmo Fountain is a magical place in the heart of the Ligurian Alps, where you can admire the enchanting panoramas of the Argentina Valley and discover the gastronomic and cultural traditions of this land.
Before being a farmhouse, we are a family: two adults, two children, a grandfather... and quite a few animals, who have chosen to live in the mountains and commit themselves to safeguarding the territory and its traditions. We try to carve out a space to live in harmony with nature, with ourselves and with others. What we offer our guests is a glimpse into our world.
We are located in Drego, in the municipality of Molini di Triora, at an altitude of 1,100 meters above sea level, a stone's throw from the Regional Park of the Ligurian Alps, with a view of the sea.
The farmhouse is very similar to a typical alpine refuge, with the difference that the rooms are independent and each one has its own bathroom.
The rooms are located in ancient shepherds' huts, are made of stone and completely renovated according to the traditional architecture of the place. Possibility, upon request at the time of booking, to have dinner directly in the malga with a fixed menu with seasonal products from the farm, following the ancient recipes of the typical cuisine of the Upper Argentina Valley.
Infinite paths also start from the refuge rooms, just a stone's throw from the Ligurian Alps Park.
The company is particularly attentive to eco-sustainability: the structure is served by renewable energy produced by photovoltaic panels and heated in the cold months with wood stoves.
We are also an agri-campsite, with the possibility of using a tent site and services (bathroom with shower).
The agritourism restaurant, open to all, is located further downstream, in the village of Agaggio Inferiore, a hamlet in the municipality of Molini di Triora. It is only open on Sunday for lunch. Renovated maintaining the exposed stone, it is 25 minutes from the rooms and accommodates about 35 people. Heated in the cold months by two wood-burning stoves, in summer it is a cool place to have meals in complete relaxation.
The cuisine offered, both in the village and in the mountain pastures, is typical of the mountains and the Ligurian Alps, with typical recipes handed down from grandmothers to mothers, inspired by Occitan culture and some dishes of the "white cuisine". The menu is fixed, fresh and prepared on the day: from appetizers to desserts, only the farm's seasonal products are used.
We offer cultural exchange experiences, environmental education lessons, workshops and customized packages. We are part of the WWOOF network, we are an educational farm, a social farm and a licensed environmental hiking guide of the Province of Imperia: we organize guided tours of the farm for children, adults and school groups, and guided excursions to discover the flora and fauna that represent the true wealth of this territory.
