Alpaca Country House
An old farmhouse transformed into an organic farm, near the medieval village of Montecastello, in the hills of Pisa, in the Alta Valdera Park. The country house is surrounded by 5 hectares of olive groves and pastures with beautiful alpaca.
Pristine hills, clean air, Alpaca breeding and biodiversity: we live in a magical place and we can not wait to let you discover it! Our Country House is the ideal place to recharge from the stress of the city, eat healthy food with a rustic flavor and be pampered by nature, admiring animals free to graze in the woods.
Alpaca Country House is a completely renovated farmhouse of 1200, owned by the Magnani family, inserted in the medieval village of Montecastello (Pisa), located in the picturesque hills of the province of Pisa, surrounding the area of Palaia and surrounded by lush and unspoiled nature of history.
Located within the "Parco dell'Alta Valdera", it includes a green area of 5 hectares of land with ancient olive trees, used mostly for the Alpaca breeding: delicious animals from fine wool. Together with the Alpacas cohabit also a horse of Falabella race called Emperor, a donkey named Giulio, seven Tibetan goats, a Cavalier King named Charlie and three cats: Regina, Tricia and Urus. It will be possible to visit all our animals!
If you love Glamping, you can not miss the chance to spend a night in our Yurta tent, the traditional dwelling of the nomadic peoples of Mongolia. Immersed in nature, overlooking the park and the pool, it is equipped with every comfort: lighting, bathroom, a small kitchenette, private courtyard. All you need for a unique experience.
Our Huacaya Alpaca breeding has 10 animals and is the only one with these characteristics in the province of Pisa: staying in the Country House will allow you to collaborate in the daily life of the farm, feeding the animals and participating in the seasonal work of the 'breeding.
All our Alpacas are shy, docile, silent but also very intelligent: a day spent with them will remind you how much peace there can be in silence.
At our facility there is also a store where you can buy scarves and Plaid in Alpaca yarn: each product is unique in its type, handmade and handcrafted with wool coming from our breeding. If interested, we can also sell alpaca wool already in balls of gray, dark brown and light brown.
The Osteria was born with the desire to combine typical dishes of the Tuscan tradition with the refined lightness of modern cuisine. The warmly familiar environment, the landscape and the nature surrounding the Osteria will make you discover the taste of "eating well".
Our recipes bring back to the table simple but tasty dishes, such as roasts cooked in a wood oven, homemade pasta, bread and big fried dishes. The authenticity of the flavors and the genuineness of the food are guaranteed by the direct supplies to the producers of the area: food at zero km, in season and vegetables coming from our garden.
One of the peculiarities of our Osteria is to offer, in addition to the à la carte menu, different types of menus, for example: the tasting menu, the vegetarian menu or the much requested tourist menu. The à la carte menu, instead, offers choices of Tuscan dishes based on the products of the current season that, choosing the right wine from our wine list, you will be able to taste with even more taste. You can then close the meal with a sweet of the house.
From the agritusrimo Alpaca you can reach in a few minutes many famous places of Tuscany:
25 minutes to Pisa and 30 minutes from the sea
40 minutes to Volterra
40 minutes to Lucca
50 minutes to Florence

It has been noticed: Energy saving lights.
