"We want bread but we also want roses." For us this phrase meant responding to the need for what is necessary for material life but also for psychological and spiritual life, the beauty and goodness of life. It meant, first of all, taking care of this small piece of Ligurian land (18 hectares) that was entrusted to us, of its land, its plants and its animals and, ultimately, also of us who live there. We are citizens and this land taught us some hard lessons about what it meant to care for it beyond our illusions or preconceptions. It was a hard but invaluable lesson.
We want to share this "taking care" with the people who want to be our guests and offer them our bread but also the roses: the beauty and peace that surround us, the opportunity for a more direct relationship with nature, the possibility of a place and time in which to listen to each other and find other ways to "recreate".
There is no television in your rooms, but a large library to draw on, reading spaces and board games and a large living room with a wood-burning fireplace.
You can arrive by bus up to about 3km from our house, but it is 3km uphill: if you let us know in advance we will be happy to organize ourselves to pick you up.
The road to reach us is unfortunately difficult and a little battered, but from here you can set off for more or less long walks on foot or by mountain bike in our woods and mountains: Mount Ramaceto, the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri , the Aveto Park...
If you then feel nostalgic for a bit of worldliness, with 18 km of that somewhat bumpy road you can reach Chiavari and its sea and from there, by train or ferry, all the towns of the Gulf of Tigullio: San Fruttuoso, Portofino , Sestri Levante and the Cinque Terre...

We enjoyed an unique experience at the Pane e Rose B&B end of August. We stayed at the room with the queen bed. It looks like on the picture is comfortable and decorated with care. The same for the ensuite bathroom with shower. The location of the B&B is in the hills in beautiful and fresh forests. You can reach it with a scenic drive on a good road in about 15' from the Ligurian coast. The host couple Brunella and Guido are fantastic people. They both speak English well and created with Pane e Rose a little eco paradise. However, the best was that Guido invited us to their private dinner table! He recommended a fine restaurant in the vicinity, but we did not want to go the extra way. Brunella cooked a delicious organic vegetable soup and made very tasty bread and focaccia. At breakfast we also got home made organic honey produced by the bees of Guido, which you also can buy, what we did. To sum up: A unique experience and therefore highly recommendable. We plan to come back :-).

Wow! The Stay at Pane & Rose was a wonderful experience! The house with a beautiful Setting in the mountains is located quite remote (car is necessary) but perfect for enjoying nature, hiking and exploring the breathtaking landscape of liguria!
We felt very at Home for This Short period, especially because of our wonderful hosts, Brunella and Guido. Even though we didnt speak the same Language, it was always possible to comunicate somehow. The breakfast was always delicous and served with Heart.
Our room was clean and the living Room was very comfortable.
All in all a very heartwarming experience with breathtaking nature all around you!

Oh! Il soggiorno al Pane & Rose è stata un'esperienza meravigliosa! La casa con una splendida cornice in montagna si trova abbastanza remota (è necessaria l'auto) ma perfetta per godersi la natura, fare escursioni ed esplorare il paesaggio mozzafiato della Liguria!
Ci siamo sentiti davvero a casa per questo breve periodo, soprattutto grazie ai nostri meravigliosi padroni di casa, Brunella e Guido. Anche se non parlavamo la stessa lingua, era sempre possibile comunicare in qualche modo. La colazione era sempre deliziosa e servita con cuore.
La nostra camera era pulita e il soggiorno era molto confortevole.
Tutto sommato un'esperienza davvero commovente con una natura mozzafiato tutto intorno a te!
