L’Albero di Eliana is an eco-friendly bed and breakfast in the heart of the Sassi di Matera, a special place to relax after days of discovery.
Immerse yourself in the magic of the ancient districts of Matera, cultural heritage of Unesco and of the Murgia, a natural spectacle just around the corner.
Far from the noise of the city, in the morning you wake up sweetly only with the singing of birds, the sound of bells and the scent of coffee.
L’Albero di Eliana is a B&B created in an ancient structure and consists of an independent area, that is Eliana's house, two bedrooms and a living room with kitchen for guests to use. I have always welcomed travelers with an overview of the city talking about tourist attractions, places to try and people to meet and with delicious breakfasts with local products, this has made L’Albero special for seven years.
From 2021 to meet the new needs in tourism L'Albero changes formula and offers beautiful independent accommodation (with breakfast outside on request) for all needs: entire two-bedroom apartment with kitchen and living room, double bedroom with kitchen and living room or only independent double room. I or a friend will be there to welcome you upon arrival and talk to you about Matera and the Tree, I will also be reachable by phone for any advice.
The rooms are simple and welcoming, breakfast is a feast of local products, served with love, usually organic or fair trade.
Il Nido enjoys a wonderful view of the Sasso Caveoso, the room is bright and welcoming, equipped with a double bed and a comfortable sofa bed. Enveloped by a large tuff vault, it is nice to wake up in a typical place of the Sassi, immersed in history, and at the same time in an environment with attention to every detail to make your stay unforgettable.
Located in a structure in front of a typical cave, the second room of L’Albero di Eliana, the Tana, is very spacious and has two wooden beds, which can be joined into a double, and a sofa bed. La Tana has an independent entrance which is accessed through a typical neighborhood, with a small exclusive terrace. The shower, in the private bathroom, is carved into the rock, for a unique feeling of well-being in close contact with history.
Located in an environment that has been kept intact for centuries, at the Albero we are very careful to preserve resources such as water and energy, to purchase at zero km and we encourage guests to do the same.
We also pay close attention to the reduction, reuse and proper recycling of waste.
The furniture is mainly handmade and produced by local artisans or are salvaged objects. We shop paying attention to packaging, we use ecological or local soaps and detergents.
In addition, the condensing boiler, the new fixtures, the energy-saving or LED bulbs and the class A appliances allow to reduce energy waste.
We strongly believe that sustainability starts here, from nurturing good practices with our daily choices.

BB tranquillo, vicino al centro e a tutte le attrazioni. Gentile e premurosa Eliana anche se non abbiamo avuto il piacere di conoscerla. Check in in self . Abbiamo alloggiato nella stanza Tana, spaziosa con un bel bagno. Colazione servita da Serena, con prodotti a km zero. Consigliato

Il BB è in una posizione centralissima, nel sasso cavernoso. Un posto fuori dal tempo, tutto estremamente pulito, con un profumo di lavanda che ti accompagna in camera e negli spazi comuni ben concepiti. Colazione dolce e salata con prodotti locali, Eliana è molto attenta alla cura dell'ospite nel rispetto ambientale. Simpatica, disponibile e accogliente. Non si può arrivare in macchina, quindi consiglio di lasciare i bagagli neinpressi e parcheggiare poi con calma.

Un luogo in cui ci si sente davvero "a casa", curato nei minimi dettagli, appena si entra si sente profumo di "buono" e non è tralasciato nessun aspetto dal punto di vista ecologico, ma nello stesso tempo non manca di ogni comfort, si dorme bene, la doccia con vista sui Sassi è favolosa, la colazione una coccola di bontà e salute. Eliana ha reso questo posto speciale perché lei è davvero speciale. Noi abbiamo deciso di dormirci una notte in più e abbiamo accettato il suo suggerimento di fare un trekking sulla Murgia e ne siamo stati felicissimi!! Grazie Eliana! Un posto incantato nel cuore dei sassi, in cui sentirsi a casa, coccolati da Eliana che oltre ad essere una padrona di casa impeccabile, riesce a guidarti in questa meravigliosa città dandoti tutti i consigli di cui hai bisogno anticipando le domande e le richieste che vorresti farle! Straconsigliato...e soprattutto un posto in cui vale la pena restare..e soprattutto ritornare!

Fantastic experience. location: excellent, located in the centre of Matera, in a very quite little road, not the best place if you have mobility issue; Room: the room and the house are so welcoming and decorated graciously and tastefully, the little terrace outside is perfect for relaxing, the room is spacious and fresh even in the hottest temperatures; Host: Serena is incredible and has been a pleasure meet her and have a little chat every morning during breakfast, she gave us a lot of information and her positivity grate. Breakfast is amazing with very good quality local products and they care for the environment. I will definitely go back

Eliana's B&B is situated in the heart of the Sassi, making it an ideal location for exploring Matera. The house itself is an old building with thick stone walls and high ceilings, and Eliana is a wonderfully thoughtful and caring hostess. She provided us with a map of the town and recommendations of places to eat and things to do, and she speaks excellent English. We will definitely come back here if we visit Matera again.

Un super joli B&B au coeur du centre historique de Matera (Sasso Caveoso).
Nous avons été très gentillement accueillis par Eliana et Enza qui nous ont donné pleins de conseils utiles pour nos visites à Matera et dans les environs.
La chambre était belle et spacieuse et équipée d'un précieux voile contre les moustiques ;). Nous avons apprécié de dîner le soir devant la maison à l'ombre, au calme... En effet, le B&B et très bien situé tout en étant dans une ruelle piétonne peux fréquentée. A recommander vivement!

Tutto molto bello, stanza pulita elegante ma semplice nel contempo.Molto ospitali ,ottimo come posizione forse l'unico neo sono gli scalini da fare per raggiungere il B&B ma alla fine per vivere Matera servono anche loro.

Un bellissimo week-end tra i sassi di Matera. Il b&b molto accogliente. Eliana una persona che ti fa sentire subito a tuo agio. Stanza pulita e arredata con gusto. Colazione ottima preparata da Eliana con prodotti bio. Posizione centrale per visitare i sassi. Siamo proprio rimasti soddisfatti, grazie Eliana.
