An old stone house just a few kilometers from the Ligurian Sea to the west, in the heart of a medieval village, with a garden shaded by olive trees and a wonderful terrace loggia.
A welcoming ecofriendly B&B in Lecchiore, a picturesque early medieval village in the hinterland of Western Liguria. The ancient stone house where the B&B is located is embellished with one of the most beautiful loggias in the country. The Southern Room and the Eastern Room are two suites consisting of a sleeping area, a living area and a private bathroom with shower, ideal both for a weekend and for longer stays. They are both located on the first floor and enjoy a splendid view over the enchanting landscape of the Prino Valley, down to the sea. For the benefit of your peace and quiet, you will not find a television in the rooms, but you can take advantage of our free Wi-Fi service and numerous books. A refrigerator is available for guests in the porch. For younger guests we have cot and high chair, but also some spaces for them and several games and books. Small pets are welcome, but must never be left alone in the rooms.
The breakfasts are served on our wonderful loggia terrace. The products we offer you are the result of rigorous choices: first of all we want them to be local and in season, that come from organic production and that, in the case of foods not available locally such as coffee and tea, they are produced according to criteria of fairness and protection environment. Every morning in Ududemà you can enjoy homemade jams, biscuits or cakes, and then honey, cereals, yogurt, and juices. If you like, we can prepare savory breakfasts with mountain cheeses, farm eggs, green cake and Ligurian focaccia. The fruit comes mainly from our garden, and when the vegetable garden dedicated to the guests is ready, you can accompany everything with the tomatoes collected directly from you!
If you follow particular food regimes or are subject to allergies we are ready to meet your needs.
You can get there from Imperia, reaching Dolcedo and then covering four kilometers of asphalted road among the olive groves and, arrived at your destination, a few meters on foot along the narrow carrugio that leads to the entrance of the B&B. The context is one of the most suggestive: a timeless landscape of olive groves, dry stone walls, ancient paths and well-preserved villages full of charm. Looking north, the gaze meets the first hills of the Maritime Alps, while in the south it embraces the decline of the hills up to the promontory of Porto Maurizio and the blue of the sea.
Lecchiore is a true architectural delight: many of its stone houses are topped with loggias terraces, which in the past were used to dry fruit to be kept for the winter. Just beyond the town, the olive groves give way to thick oak forests; there flows the Rio dell’Acquasanta, known for its crystal clear lakes, where you can dive to find shelter from the summer heat.
Ududemà is an eco-sustainable B&B. We have renovated it with natural products allowed in bio-architecture, and we have used recycled materials to make some of our furnishings, which are made of natural materials and free of harmful substances. We do not have artificial air conditioning systems and our appliances and boiler are energy efficient. Our breakfasts are prepared with local, organic or fair trade products: we do not use single portion packs, nor disposable plates, tablecloths or glasses. The detergents and cleaners we have chosen are highly biodegradable and environmentally friendly. We practice separate collection and invite our customers to do the same, making special containers available to them: organic waste is composted in the garden. The garden and vegetable garden are grown without using chemicals, choosing local varieties that need little water even in the summer months.
For us with this house it was love at first sight: the vaulted ceilings, the antique terracotta and colored cement floors, the black slate staircase and the original fixtures, as well as the arches of the porch and the thick stone walls, so in tune with the surrounding landscape. It was immediately clear to us that we would keep it like this, in all its splendor and with all its imperfections, which for us are an indispensable part of its nature. We will be happy to tell you about the work we have done to make our home remain as it always was and to continue to tell its story.

Laura is a great host. She is very friendly and passionate in running a truly environmental B&B. We can highly recommend this B&B. We had a comfortable bedroom attached to a cosy living room with great view of the green valley. Our private bathroom was just across the hallway. The room and the whole Ududema B&B is gently renovated, in order to keep the original style and character of the old building. Laura painted and decorated the house with taste and love. The location high-up in the valley gives you peace and tranquility. The house is part of a cute little hamlet. Behind the house there is a beautiful terraced garden with lots of trees to give shade. The food is delicious and all organic, which is rare at Eco B&Bs. All the fresh ingredients like vegetables and fruits are cultivated by Laura in her garden. The breakfast is served on a covered rooftop terrace with a beautiful view of the valley and the sea. We loved Laura's project to restore a collapsed stone terrace in her garden. For funding this she designs and creates during the winter months unique presents like booksigns, little paintings, organic jam, etc., which you can buy. To summarise: We are already looking forward to going back soon.
It has been noticed: Organic or Local Food, Green building, Energy saving lights, Ecological cleaning products, Water flow reducers.
