Agriturismo Moschella, Masseria Bio
Organic farm that has become an Apulian didactic farm and agritourism. We produce ancient grains, legumes and organic vegetables. We offer the excellence of the territory on the table. We are located in the Park of the Ofanto river and on its cycle path.
To manage the Agriturismo Moschella there is me, Daniela, and my French husband, Manuel.
We only offer fresh and seasonal products, often organic and of our production or purchased from nearby producers.
The rooms and the restaurant, obtained from an ancient finely restored Posta delle Pecore, are spacious and welcoming.
We are Apulian educational farm and we offer group workshops, starting from 2 people (beekeeping, orecchiette, biscuits, spontaneous vegetable collection, garden managed in permaculture ...).
We speak Italian, French, English and Spanish.
Although the town of Cerignola does not practice separate collection, we dispose of our separate waste, reducing it at the origin thanks to the use of local and bulk products. All organic waste is reused on the farm for animal consumption or for the production of humus, through compost.
The territory offers a multitude of opportunities for:
NATURALISTIC VISITS
- THE OFANTO RIVER, the reed bed and the wild fauna and flora, only 100 m from the structure
- The DIGA CAPACCIOTTI, an artificial lake nestled in the fields of wheat, asphodels and poppies, just 2.5 km on foot (or 12 kg by car) from the structure
- The nearby MARGHERITA DI SAVOIA (45 minutes by car) in which in addition to sedentary flamingos and other birds in the wetland (which continues up to the LAKE SALSO area), you can observe the mountain of salt, which varies in height according to the period, and the blue or red pools, which overlook the blue of the GULF OF MANFREDONIA
- You can visit (about 30 minutes) the MONTICCHIO LAKES, on the VULTURE, the majestic and extinct volcano that observes the VALLE DELL'OFANTO from above.
- Moving south, you can visit the NATIONAL PARK OF ALTA MURGIA.
- On the BEACHES OF GARGANO, from 50 minutes to 1 hour and 30 minutes, you can enjoy the crystal clear sea and white rocks.
HISTORICAL-CULTURAL VISITS:
- LA PIANA DELLE FOSSE, a unique square of its kind, in Cerignola, where in ancient times, and to a very small extent still today, families stored their grain to keep it for the whole year. Cerignola is also the city of GIUSEPPE DI VITTORIO, to which a museum and several monuments are dedicated.
- ALEMANNA TOWER, an ancient bastion of feudalism at the time of FEDERICO II of Svevia, just 25 minutes away.
- VENOSA, THE INCOMPIUTA, the Castle, the Roman baths and the HOUSE OF ORAZIO, 40 minutes by car.
- CANOSA, the archaeological museum and the numerous excavations belonging to different eras, 30 minutes by car.
- CANNE DELLA BATTAGLIA, the ancient city with an attached museum, famous for the Battle of 216 BC, 40 minutes by car.
- SANTA MARIA MAGGIORE DI SIPONTO, paleo-Christian basilica, where you can admire wonderful pieces of ancient art, which crosses contemporary art with the reconstruction of the ancient basilica, enchanting especially in the evening, when it is illuminated.
- CASTEL DEL MONTE, the wonderful and mysterious castle of Federico II, one of the symbols of Puglia in the world, 55 minutes by car.
- MONTE SANT'ANGELO, the castle, the IUNNO district, a World Heritage Site, the rock church of San Michele, overlooking the Gulf of Manfredonia, 1 hour and 15 minutes away.
