In a fourteenth century villa, a beautiful hotel overlooking Florence

Pensione Bencistà: a special point of view on Florence and its hills, between art and territory.

Pensione Bencistà is an ancient house, nestled in the green hills of Fiesole; a wonderful balcony from which the view embraces the silver expanse of olive trees, almost a line of horizon overlooking the great monuments of our city of Florence.

The terraces, covered by wisteria and dotted with rose gardens, offer secluded corners from which to enjoy the view of the marvelous works of the architects of the past in complete tranquility: Brunelleschi's dome, Santa Croce, Piazzale Michelangelo are set in the harmonious horizon of the hills of the Chianti.

The fourteenth-century villa, which was a monastery, the residence of great Florentine families, the private home of the painter Arnold Böcklin (a famous exponent of German Symbolism), retains the antique furnishings dating back to the beginning of the century when the Simoni family bought it to make it a guesthouse.

Among antiques, portraits with gilt frames, and precious old books, in the simple atmosphere of a country residence, it is no wonder that the many regular visitors treat the place with all the affection that is reserved for the residences of family.

Run by the Simoni family for 5 generations, Bencistà has a hospitable and authentic soul. Since 1927 the pension has welcomed those who want to immerse themselves in the history and culture, art and traditions of Florence and Tuscany.
