A beautiful view, the olive trees, the flowered fields of iris, the silence, the smell of the earth, a wood-burning stove that warms the house. At Poggio Pratelli there is everything, and I am happy to welcome you, to introduce you to this corner of Tuscany
The Poggio Pratelli farmhouse is in a very panoramic position on the ridge between the Chianti and the Valdarno. It is immersed in the quiet of the woods and the countryside, but at the same time only 25 km from Florence, which can easily be reached by train from the Figline Valdarno station (about 8 km). To reach us, from the hamlet of Poggio alla Croce you go along a dirt road of 1.5 km, which characterizes the place and guarantees its tranquility. Poggio Pratelli is the ideal destination to alternate culture and nature, visits to museums and walks.
Since 1987 we have been producing extra virgin organic olive oil and iris (iris pallida), which we use for the production of cosmetic organic creams, for the face and hands.
The house is in stone, typical of the Tuscan countryside. We have restored the part dedicated to guests, using local materials, wood and terracotta. The central heating is wood burning, the water is heated by solar panels.
The apartment is in the oldest part of the house, it was a house / tower from 1200. It is composed of 1 bedroom with double bed and bathroom on the first floor, living room and kitchen on the ground floor. A grape pergola overlooks the garden, which, like a large terrace, allows you to enjoy the panorama of the entire Arno valley and the landscape of the Leonardesque cliffs.
In the living room, there is a sofa bed, and a fireplace for winter evenings.
The kitchen is equipped and at your arrival you will find the indispensable ingredients, sugar, salt, oil, coffee. On request we can prepare a basket with breakfast, with our honey and organic jams.
In the library you can consult maps of the area, information brochures, city maps, museum and train timetables for those wishing to reach Florence.
At home there is a radio to listen to music, there is no television and, if you want to stay in touch with the world, there is wifi.
We live on the first floor, always available to taste our organic olive oil, cosmetic creams with iris, to weave a basket in olive tree, because the basketry is an activity of Poggio Pratelli.

Es blieben keine Wünsche offen: sehr schöne Einrichtung, schöne Plätzchen zum Entspannen im Garten und gute Ausgangsposition für Besichtigungstouren nach Florenz und ins Chianti. Der Gemüsegarten lieferte frisches Gemüse und Kräuter, v. a. superleckere Tomaten. Unbedingt das Sauerteigbrot von Francesca probieren!
