The Sagna Rotonda Ecovillage is a small mountain village restored to its former glory that was born in the Piedmontese mountains.
The love for the mountains and the beauty of the place pushed Giovanni and his wife to revive an ancient village, called Sagna Rotonda, at an altitude of 1,644 meters above sea level, connected by a forest road to the nearest inhabited center. taking into account the historical value of the buildings, dating back, it seems, to the 1700s, resulting in 13 housing units that have modern construction and plant techniques, as well as the use of alternative energy sources that respect the environment.
At guests' disposal an organic vegetable garden where each guest can freely collect and taste everything he can offer, a small shop where you can find local products such as: Honey, Biscuits, Sauces, Jams. products in oil, wine, craft beer and our mountain liqueur Genepy and much more
For groups and their activities we can also offer a restaurant service, and a large hall where they can carry out their activities such as yoga, courses, gymnastics, meetings
Electricity is supplied by a photovoltaic system of about 8 Kwp, combined with a heating system with electric heat pumps and the use of electric induction hobs. The production of hot water is instead entrusted to electric boilers. With these solutions, the structure is completely autonomous from an energy point of view, without CO2 emissions and therefore respecting the environment. The lighting system is made up of new LED technologies that have a low energy absorption. the common parts are served by a high efficiency heat pump
The small mountain village is of unparalleled beauty and has a large common area, a wood oven and an immense green area for children and outdoor tables.
The Maira Valley offers tourists the opportunity to visit an area still little known, scattered with railways of the Vallo Alpino on the border with France, ideal for walks and cycle excursions, encountering works of fortifications and war entrenchments, such as the Gardetta plateau or Rocca La Meja, in a magnificent setting.

We visited Sagna Rotonda during Christmas time till 30th Dec. It was a perfect place to get away from the Holiday rush and madness.
The uniqueness of this accommodation is that you are totally isolated from the world in a way where you still find the comfort within the simplicity.
The owners were very welcoming and friendly people.
We stayed in the Civico 13, which is a storeyed apartment, suitable for 5 persons. The apartment was very clean and well-equipped, we got even hair dryer, although please note that you have to pay extra for towels and bed-linen if you don’t want to bring yours.
The fireplace was enough to heat up the whole area in minutes and the warmth lasted during the whole night. You can find enough equipments in the kitchen to cook for yourself if you want to but also there is a small restaurant which offers freshly prepared menu everyday by the owners with love.
The sauna area was a unique sanctuary of the place, a piece of art of the owner’s handwork. The sauna sessions were our delight at the end of the day.
If you are looking for a place where you can be close to the nature and you can experience the silence of the mountains of the Alps, this is a place we recommend.
