CASA VACANZA – APPARTAMENTI - B&B “SANTA BARBARA” di Badolato è una confortevole casa di fine ottocento, ubicata nell’antico borgo e recentemente ristrutturata mantenendo l'atmosfera del passato, inserita in un contesto geografico panoramico, silenzioso e rilassante, a soli 10 minuti d'auto dal mare.

Dopo anni trascorsi in Emilia Romagna per motivi di lavoro ed in giro per il mondo per motivi di viaggio, il sogno dei suoi HOST di contribuire a far rivivere l’antico borgo di Badolato si trasforma in un progetto di restauro conservativo e di rivitalizzazione della casa storica dei nonni (luogo di affetti incancellabili e di momenti di vita e gioia familiare). Da qui è nato il progetto di un B&B/Casa Vacanze – punto di riferimento per tanti ospiti stranieri, soprattutto del Nord Europa – con l’offerta di servizi turistici integrati e diversificati e con proposte congiunte di turismo lento, esperienziale, enogastronomico, culturale, emozionale e sociale. Un carnet di proposte di soggiorno e vacanze d’altri tempi, legate alle tradizioni popolari e alla storia diretta dei luoghi e della sua comunità.

La struttura risulta fornita di ogni comfort, con terrazzi vista mare e montagna con tavolo e sedie da esterno, ampi bagni con box doccia, un ingresso indipendente, TV, uso lavatrice, linea ADSL con internet veloce (fibra ottica) con WI-FI, aria condizionata (caldo-freddo), biciclette a disposizione.

La collocazione del B&B/ Casa Vacanza è posta sulla parte ovest e lungo il Corso Umberto I (n° 78) del centro storico di Badolato: un suggestivo borgo medievale, piccolo presepe sovrastante il Golfo di Squillace, con ben quattordici chiese disposte a forma di croce latina e molti vicoli caratteristici, che si erge a 240 metri sul livello del mare, su di una collina, e che dista solo 5 Km dalle bianchissime spiagge della Costa Ionica e 9 Km dalla montagna delle Serre Calabresi con il suo Parco Regionale Naturale. Badolato poi dista a pochi km da percorsi naturalistici, sentieri trekking, tappe della “Ciclovia dei Parchi”, del Cammino Basiliano e del Cammino “Kalabria Coast to Coast”. Possibilità di praticare in loco e nel territorio circostante sport acquatici, diving con escursioni subacquee, attività outdoor ecc.

All’interno della casa è ubicato un antico “catojo” (cantina) per momenti conviviali tipicamente mediterranei e calabresi, luogo di incontro e scambio culturale con momenti culinari autentici. “Santa Barbara” è anche attività ed esperienze rurali, soprattutto nei mesi settembre – ottobre e novembre tra vendemmie di comunità, partecipazione alla stagione olearia, tour culinari e corsi di cucina co-organizzati assieme ad altri partners locali.

HOLIDAY HOME - APARTMENTS - B&B "SANTA BARBARA" is a comfortable house, of the late nineteenth century, located in the ancient medieval village of Badolato. It has been recently renovated maintaining the atmosphere of the past, with new apartments characterized by a wonderful landscape & sea view.

The HOLIDAY HOME is surrounded by a quiet and relaxing geographical-naturalistic context, just 10 minutes far from the sea.

After years spent in Emilia Romagna, for work reasons and around the world travelling, the dream of the owners HOST of “Santa Barbara” to regenerate & revitalize the ancient village of Badolato was transformed into a conservative restoration project of the old grandparents' house (a place of indelible affections and moments of life and family joy).

The activities & services of B&B/ Holiday Home “Santa Barbara” started officially on 2008. It became reference point for many foreign guests, especially from Northern Europe, thanks to a special offer of integrated and diversified tourist services and with joint proposals for a slow, experiential, food and wine, cultural, emotional and social tourism.

“Santa Barbara” is also able to offer several solutions for short and long stays, interesting experiences for authentic holidays linked to folk traditions and according to local history of the place and its community.

The HOME HOLIDAY is equipped by several apartments (studios, suite, two-room and three-room flats) with every comfort, terraces overlooking the Ionian sea and mountains, with outdoor table and chairs, large bathrooms with shower, an independent entrance, TV, air-conditioning (also for heating), use of washing machine, WI-FI (fiber line/fast connection), bicycles available.

“Santa Barbara” is located on the up-west-side of Badolato and along the main road of the village in Corso Umberto I n°78. Badolato is a charming medieval village, which stands up on a hill 240 meters above sea level. It is only 5 km far from the white beaches of the Ionian Coast and 9 km from the wild mountains of Serre Calabresi Regional Natural Park. Badolato is a small crib overlooking the Gulf of Squillace, with important religious traditions and fourteen ancient churches and many characteristic narrow-alleys.

Nearby the village, few kms around, is possible to enjoy & experience naturalistic trails, hiking & trekking trails, stages of the “Ciclovia dei Parchi” (Regional Bike-Route of the Natural Parks), stages of “Cammino Basiliano” (Basilian Path) and the interesting "Kalabria Coast to Coast" from Soverato to Pizzo Calabro. You can also enjoy sea-sports, diving and other outdoor acitivities, culinary experiences & tours.

HOLIDAY HOME - APARTMENTS - B&B "SANTA BARBARA" has got a "catojo" (ancient wine cellar) for convivial & culinary moments typically Mediterranean and Calabrian. “Catojo” is the down-side of the house. A place which be used, during the summer-time, for a restaurant service called “Catojo dello Spineto”. It’s also used for cultural meeting and culinary exchange, authentic social dining events & moments. “Santa Barbara” can offer to own guests rural activities and experiences, especially on the months of September – October and November, like: community wine harvest, participation to the olive oil season, culinary & cultural tours, cooking classes etc. co-organized with other local partners.
