Ancient "millstone" in lava stone, used in the past for the pressing of grapes, surrounded by a large ground cultivated with hazelnut trees.
Ancient "millstone" in lava stone transformed into a house. It is a unique space, where 6 beds have been created, a sitting area, a large dining / work table and a kitchen equipped with everything you need. The construction dates back to 1870 and was used until the 1950s for the pressing and pressing of the grapes and their transformation into wine. It is a space full of memory, renovated by skilled wood craftsmen, keeping the structure as intact as possible: the ancient grape pressing tanks have become small cozy rooms, connected to each other by wooden ladders, while it is still possible to admire the majestic trunk and the wooden screw for pressing, as well as the many architectural details in lava stone.
The bathroom with shower is located outside, a few steps from the entrance.
On the patio in front of the house there is a barbecue area and you can enjoy the view of the central craters of Etna.
The house is immersed in a 7-hectare property mainly cultivated with hazelnut trees, with the presence of walnuts, oaks, chestnuts and other plants of the native mountain flora.
The property as a whole is located on the road connecting mountain villages and it is possible to arrive both by car (with ample parking spaces within the private space), and by bus, coming from Catania, Acireale or Giarre.
The small mountain village of Fornazzo is 1 km away from home, while Milo is 3 km away, where you can find an excellent bakery, mini market, bar, pharmacy, ATM and post office.
In the direction of Linguaglossa there are numerous vineyards and cellars, some of which are open for visits.
In the nearby village of Sant'Alfio it is possible to visit the wonderful Chestnut Tree of the Hundred Horses, one of the oldest monumental trees in Italy.
From Fornazzo the road "Mareneve" branches off, which climbs up to 1700m reaching various mountain refuges and points of attack for numerous hiking trails.
