Arán Islands Fishermans Cottage
Step back in time in this beautifully restored stone cottage, nearly three centuries old. A peaceful hideaway for couples, solo travelers, or families looking to slow down and reconnect with nature.
Set on the edge of Inis Meáin, the cottage faces Galway Bay, with views across to Inis Mór and the blue hills of Connemara beyond. Once a fisherman’s home, it’s now comfortably modern - with underfloor heating in the kitchen/ dining area and a low carbon footprint - yet still full of character and quiet charm.
Enjoy the fully equipped three bedroom cottage that catches the changing island light with a garden that wraps around the house. To help you truly unwind, there’s no Wi-Fi (though a dongle can be provided if needed—just bring a charged SIM card).

House Rules
To keep our cottage looking great for all guests, a euro 100 fee is payable in cash to the on-island caretaker who also runs a convenient ferry arrival and departure pickup service (20 euro pp in all) - saving guests a 40 minute walk to/from the cottage with their luggage. Please pay in cash upon departure to Ann or Michael. Take care to bring groceries or you can buy many staples from Siopa on the island. Please be sure to minimize packaging as it all has to be taken away from the island. The island is quite isolated and while there is a well stocked small shop run by Tomas, you should plan carefully and bring all the luxuries you need. Make an adventure of it.
