Ekodrom Estate

Ekodrom Estate is located in central Croatia, just an hour from Plitvice Lakes national park. It's surrounded by orchards and forests with spectacular views of the starry sky. We offer our guests one of the most unique accommodations in this area, enjoy all modern commodities in our recently renovated traditional wooden houses.
A great place to spend holidays, quiet nature far from the noise of bustling cities but close enough to rivers Mrežnica and Korana with lots of swimming spots.

SPACE

Mandala House
Spacious and comfortable cabin with an open space concept. On the ground floor there is a fully equipped kitchen connected with a dining area and the living room, bathroom and an extra toilet as well as a small bedroom with a queen size bed.
From the sunny and airy dining place you can step out into the beautiful terrace over-viewing the plum orchard. The covered terrace is turned south so there is a lot of sunny spaces and enough shade where you can enjoy in hammocks or dining outdoor.
In the living room there is a couch that can transform into a double sofa bed, a laptop friendly working space and a fire place.

On the first floor there are two spacious double beds and a shared toilette. The view from the balcony is breathtaking and soothing.

The kitchen is equipped with basic cutlery, silverware and cooking essentials, a refrigerator & mini freezer, stove & oven and electric kettle.

Guests can also use the common outdoor BBQ just a few steps away and a hot tub just next to the house.
The house is supplied with electricity, underfloor heating, running water, free Wifi connection and linens & towels.

Plant House
Cozy and functional cabin with an open space concept. On the ground floor there is a fully equipped kitchen connected with a dining area, living room and a bathroom with a walk in shower & toilette.
In the living room there is a couch that can transform into a double sofa bed, a laptop friendly working space and a fire place.
From the living room you can step into the beautiful terrace over-viewing the plum orchard. The covered terrace is turned south-east so there is a lot of sunny spaces and enough shade where you can enjoy in hammocks or dining outdoor.

On the first floor two separated double bedrooms are located and connected with an wooden bridge which gives a lot more space in the house.

The kitchen is equipped with basic cutlery, silverware and cooking essentials, a refrigerator & mini freezer, stove & oven and electric kettle.
Guests can also use the common outdoor BBQ just a few steps away as well as the private hot tub on the deck terrace in front of the house with a beautiful panoramic view.

The house is supplied with electricity, running water, free wifi connection and linens & towels.

Sparrow House
Beautiful small cabin with an open space concept. On the ground floor there is a fully equipped kitchen connected with a dining area and the living room. The kitchen is equipped with all the necessary cutlery, silverware and cooking essentials, a refrigerator & mini freezer, stove & oven and electric kettle.
Terrace with a beautiful panoramic view is two steps away as well as the private hot tub which you can use during the whole year.

Bathroom with a walk in shower & toilette is located on the ground floor.

In the living room there is a couch that can be transformed into a double sofa bed, a laptop friendly working space and a fire place.
On the first floor gallery there is a king size bed with a nice view.

Guests can also use shared outdoor BBQ just a few steps away.

The house is supplied with electricity, running water, free Wifi connection, floor heating and linens & towels.

There is also a washing machine which you can use with hosts' assistance.

SURROUNDING
Parking places are just over the road. The estate is located in an isolated and very quiet area with no traffic.

Next to the Mandala and Plant House is another wooden house where the hosts are staying; so if you need any assistance we are right there for you but also we know how to appreciate your privacy if that's what you prefer.

The house is located 10 km from the city of Vojnić where you can find basic things like the post office, ambulance, shops, bars and markets. For more extensive shopping we advice you to go to the city of Karlovac which is 25 km away.

HISTORY
Ekodrom Estate is an ongoing project which started in 2012 with the founding of the Ekodrom Association and planting organic plum trees on 7 hectares of land.

The Association was started by a group of friends with the goal of exchanging knowledge about sustainable living in rural Croatia. Part from that, Ekodrom organized many projects and workshops like Ekodrom festival, carpentry workshops, organic gardening educations, music and yoga lessons, etc.
The property consists of 4 cabins which used to belong to Grandmother Ljuba who spent her life in Bukovica. Two cabins used to be barns and other two were cattle stables. With great joy and many hours of work we turned this traditional constructions into cozy houses and started the Ekodrom Estate retreat center. It is our wish to offer our guests the best possible service and an amazing stay in this beautiful countryside.

In April 2020 we are opening our common hall. A 95 m2 wooden house which will be used for different activities like retreats or workshops, as well as a dining and chilling area for a bigger group of guests.

ON SITE ACTIVITIES
On the estate you can enjoy activities like picking mushrooms in a nearby forest, learn about organic orchards, organize your retreat or workshops like cooking, music or yoga, preparing delicious food on a big barbecue, enjoy hot tub whole year around or just chilling if that’s your thing.

OFF SITE ACTIVITIES
There are many interesting places to visit and fun things to do. The city that “lies on four rivers”, Karlovac is half an hour away by car.
Rivers Korana and Mrežnica offer many locations for swimming and water sport activities.
Very popular national park Plitvička Jezera is just an hour away by car.
Also, there are places close by where you can go horse riding or biking.

ECO ASPECTS AND THE SUSTAINABILITY

Estate is surrounded by 3,5 ha of organic plum orchard and a forest. In our practice we use only organic fertilizer and encourage other local producers to do the same.
Every house is equipped with 3 extra recycling boxes for separation of plastic, glas and paper. Organic leftovers are also separated and reused for fertilizing flowers and trees around the houses.
Non reusable and disposable plastic and similar products are not being used and our guests are encouraged to respect the nature and think about how overuse of commodities can harm it.
As much as possible we buy food from local producers and in that way support small family farms in the area.

In the next two years our wish is to turn on to renewable energy supply.

With our association Ekodrom since 2012. we held and helped organized many workshops in the field of organic farming, old crafts, natural building techniques, beekeeping, good economy practices, local currencies and similar.
