We are the Goravica family and we have been part of the island community on Šipan for at least a couple of generations. Traditionally we have been fishermen and producers of olive oil, and we continue to maintain our olive gardens with great care and love to produce our own delicious olive oil. In the recent years we are becoming increasingly involved in tourism.
Our property dates from a couple of centuries ago. Originally it had been a family house. The ground floor and an additional smaller building both have been used as work spaces or as areas for housing of farm animals. We reconstructed the complete place, building additional levels and areas in accordance with our new concept. During the reconstruction process we used entirely traditional materials and old stone blocks, while also applying the old manual technology of construction on rocks and with stone blocks. At our property we offer seven completely equipped apartments. All of them have private balconies or terraces, or provide access to our garden so our guests can discover some fantastic views and enjoy the quiet natural atmosphere of island life.
We believe in the future of sustainable tourism. In the past couple of years we have gradually introduced changes to our accommodation units and to our business processes to make sure we decrease our environmental impact.
We have developed our own small recycling processes, and are devoted to using only natural chemical free solutions for cleaning and for property and garden maintenance.
Our property is chemical free and we use only cleaners that are based on natural ingredients that are healthy and super efficient in providing the best results for spotlessly clean accommodation.
In our apartments guests will find that we use predominantly natural fabrics such as cotton and linen, that are healthy and create an accommodating natural home-like atmosphere.
We encourage our guests to take part in our recycling processes, and provide detailed information about how to best get around on Šipan island and what emblematic nature and historical spots are worth visiting.
We are happy to rent to you our bicycles for an advantageous price. You can get a kayak ride from Suđurađ or go hiking to explore Šipan and discover some breath taking views.
From our property walk up towards the church of St. Mary and the Benedictine Monastery or enjoy the amazing panorama views from the church of St. Trinity.
Walk downstairs for the centre of Suđurađ and the port, or continue along the walls of the old villa of Skočibuha for the field of Šipan and Šipanska Luka.
