This is not a conventional villa. It is a genuine off-grid home with a chemical-free biological natural swimming pool, fed by mountain spring water and surrounded by ancient olive groves. The pool is a living ecosystem — clean, refreshing, and completely natural.
The house offers total privacy and silence. From the terraces you can watch dramatic sunsets over the mountains, listen to the wind in the olive trees, and enjoy some of the clearest star-filled skies in Crete. What makes this place special:

House Rules at the Hermitage We want you to feel completely at home and relaxed. These guidelines help us preserve the natural beauty and peaceful character of the Hermitage. 1. Respect the Natural Pool The pool is a biological / natural swimming pool – it has no chemicals. Please do not use sunscreen, body lotion, hair products, or any soap/shampoo directly in the pool. Use the outdoor shower first. No diving or jumping. Children must be supervised at all times. 2. Off-Grid & Sustainability The villa runs on solar power and rainwater collection. Please use electricity and water mindfully. Turn off lights and unplug devices when not in use. The wood stove is for your comfort in cooler months – firewood is provided. 3. Quiet & Peace This is a place for deep rest and connection with nature. Please keep noise levels low, especially after 23:00 and before 09:00. No parties or large gatherings. 4. Smoking & Fire Safety No smoking inside the house. Smoking is allowed only in the designated outdoor area (ashtrays provided). Fires are only permitted in the wood stove and after October 1 until May 1. 5. Nature & Wildlife Please respect the surrounding nature. Do not pick wildflowers or disturb wildlife. Close all doors and windows at night to avoid insects. 6. General Rules No pets (due to the natural pool and wildlife). The villa is for a maximum of 2 adults and there is a sofa bed for a child if required (as per booking). Leave the house clean and tidy upon departure. A final cleaning fee is included, but we appreciate your help keeping it nice. 7.
