Olrig Estate is a haven for horses due to the rich fertile lands that have been unused for farming for many years therefore containing no chemicals anywhere (though archaeologists find an abundance of Victorian crockery). The fields are slightly elevated on Olrig hill overlooking the sea, which gives good drainage as well as good views.
Olrig has six beautiful stables. Three inside the courtyard indoors plus a tack room hay shelter and even one old victorian stable with the old fashioned bronze rings. We have six fields of which three are very good for grazing that have a water pool and a paddock with three stables in the field for extra shelter. Theres abundant grazing and shelter and water available all year round for those that love to have horses or spacious fields for riding or grazing. Riding on the beach is a must for horse lovers as its five minutes away.
Of course it's possible to bring your own horses to stay in the stables.
Caithness is famous for its love of riding and hosts many horse events.
