Large king room, en-suite, Central London
Luxurious and large room in beautiful original and lovingly refurbed detached victorian house.
The room is large (30 sqm, height 2.8m) and modern with grey and pastel colours and dark wood floor on the first floor in our family home. It can host a family of 4 with a mattress on the floor (no sofa bed). The double aspect with large windows to the side and front gives loads of light. The sun hits the bay in the morning, but won't wake you as the curtains are thick. The en-suite has walk in shower, is tiled throughout in modern light sand coloured tiles, has a wall hung toilet and basin and recessed back lit shelves.
Although the house is an original victorian house, it was fully refurbed in 2014 and has been fully insulated, including the walls. The heating and hot water is supplied by air-source heat pump and we also have solar thermal hot water heating. Our electricity supply is a renewable package which also rewards us for using energy outside of peak demand times. This helps to reduce demand on the grid as a whole for electricity produced from gas. The bathroom products are all eco friendly and sustainable products and come in refillable containers. We do, in fact run our own packaging free, business. We will recycle all your waste for you. The lighting is all low energy. And just for your info, we all members of the Green party.
There is a kettle and a small fridge in the room and we can supply a microwave if required, there is also a table with 4 chairs. I'm afraid we don't give access to the main kitchen as this is in our family space.
We normally welcome our guests when they check but arrangements can be made for self check-in if we are going to be out. Check can be flexible if we can accommodate your request but no later than 11pm please. If you wish to come in late (after 10.30pm during your stay), we would apprecaiet it if your English is good enough to be able to understand the instructions for the security alarm.
The house is situated near Herne Hill train station which has direct links to Victoria in the central west end, the city and St Pancras International. We are 15/20mins walk to Brixton tube and also to Denmark Hill on the Overground tube line. Also North Dulwich train station, which goes direct to London Bridge, is only 8 mins walk away. The above railway lines also serve large parts of Kent and Sussex, if you want to access the countryside. The hiking is beautiful and you can get to many lovely places within 60 to 90mins train journey.

House Rules
This is a room in our family house so we would appreciate your consideration around noise at 10.30pm. Likewise, we will be considerate of you in attempting not to disturb you. I have put, check-in from 2pm. Generally 5pm is better but we are often around and, if we can, we can try to accommdate requests for an earlier check-in. We would prefer to not have checks in later than 10.30pm but again, if you have a special request, let us know and we will see if we can accommodate it. Because this is a room in our family house we will require that you allow us to take a photo of your passport ID page or your British driving licence.
