Bluebell Annex sleeps 1-3 and is a one bedroom self contained, self-catering annex with private entrance. The family size bedroom provides a king size bed and single bed with vaulted ceiling. Sitting room (with optional extra single sofa bed). Bathroom with en-suite bath and shower. Kitchenette, washer/dryer, dining table. TV and USB sockets. There is a locked interconnecting door to the main house.

We welcome guests who just want to come for a quiet staycation in our two self contained accommodations on a self catering basis, or as bnb guests in the two bedrooms in the house with continental breakfast included. The property is very rural and pretty remote with no near neighbours or public transport so a car is recommended. The nearest big town is Llandeilo 6 miles away or Llandovery 11 miles away both serviced by train stations. The small village of Llangadog is just 4 miles away and although has a train station and some pubs and a post office and a small convenience store does not have a range of shopping opportunities.

If coming by train we can pick you up but you will be restricted in your movements due to the remote location and no public transport. If coming for a walking break there are wonderful public footpaths across the mountain and to the nearby iron age fort. We have some ancient bicyles that can be used free of charge but the property positioned on a hill so the terrain is very steep which can be challenging for old bicyles.

The property is located on 3 acres with a river running the length of the property, established garden with green houses and a pretty field with oaks and ash trees. The owner lives in the property with Rosie the cat having been purchased in 2019 and completely renovated to a high standard.

We practise respect for the environment, our health and the land at Cwmdu Retreat and request that you leave synthetic chemical products at home. We provide eco friendly products and try to live as much as possible in harmony with nature and keeping the land as nature intended. We grow everything organically and practise permaculture principles and use 'weeds' as herbal medicines and food such as dandelions, pennywort, plantain, nettles, wild garlic, chickweed, sorrel, meadowsweet and funghi such as chicken-in-the-woods all of which grow in profusion when leaving the land as undisturbed as possible. It is all a work in progress but is a great joy and honour to live in such a natural pristine environment. The water to the house is from a spring and drainage is on a septic tank. Other than the electricity we are working towards self sufficiency and sharing in the joy of living in this lovely location.
