The Grange is your little corner of the countryside, nestled among meadows and forests. The site includes a large, open-plan house and a renovated barn, providing a space for observation and immersion in the peace and quiet of the site.
THE GRANGE IN CANTAL
A country house, for a sustainable stay, between Cantal and Lot!
The lands of Cantal, with their raw beauty, call you to escape, invite you to slow down. A declaration to nature awaits you...
Those who venture into Cantal know it: you can get a little lost, marvel at the landscapes, the forests, the colors, and salivate at its gastronomy. It's a land that doesn't boast. But when you linger, it reveals its strength, its soothing presence.
The distant cry of a bird of prey, the taste of mature cheese or warm bread, the incomparable starry nights, the autumn colors... This is the promise you'll find here!
The house will comfortably accommodate 6 people, on a 10-hectare site isolated from the rest of the world. The house has been renovated with charm and ambiance: a large living room, reclaimed parquet floors, interior lime plaster, a wood-burning stove, cladding, a staircase, and an outdoor terrace.
The barn has regained its heritage character with the stone vault and the entrance roof... and then the majestic opening onto the forest was a must!
THE KITCHEN AND LIVING ROOM
The kitchen wraps around a superb farmhouse table, found in a neighboring village, which will allow for an authentic country buffet in the house.
A dishwasher, ceramic hob, oven, refrigerator, and filter and Italian coffee machines complete the equipment.
The living room and kitchen make up the living space on the first level: everything is open for a convivial atmosphere.
In the living room, the stove will warm autumn evenings, and books will accompany quieter moments.
A Wi-Fi connection will open you up to the world if needed.
THE ROOMS
The bedrooms, with their wooden floors and exposed beams on the upper floors, all have a comfortable, warm, and rustic feel. The decor is either antique-inspired or inspired by walks in the woods.
The windows offer a view of the surrounding vegetation and let in natural light.
They are equipped with double beds (160 and 140 cm) or single beds (90 cm).
THE BATHROOMS
The bathrooms, one on each floor, with showers, have been renovated in a 1950s style or furnished in a country style. They offer natural light.
The laundry room in the basement features a washing machine.
THE OUTDOORS
Outside, the large terrace is perfect for your morning breakfast or your afternoon drinks.
A barbecue, a garden table, and large benches will welcome you on your summer evenings, with your feet in the grass!
The terrace, the garden, and the shade of the fruit trees are your sanctuaries. In the barn opposite the house, you can make small wooden objects, read, or simply admire the nature unfolding before you.
THE STAY AT THE GRANGE
Here, the days stretch out, guided by nature and what the region has to offer in a "slow-tourism" spirit:
. A magnificent mountain hike on the slopes of Puy Mary, to discover the glacial ridges and valleys of the Monts du Cantal, and finish with a tasting of bourriol with Roquefort cheese in Salers.
. The discovery of Aurillac, its gastronomy, its Street Arts Festival, and the beautiful villages like Marcolès in the surrounding area.
. A cultural visit to the Lot Valley in Figeac, or a spiritual day in Conques.
. A walk in the woods, a swim in the stream by the cabin, dinner with a plum clafoutis from the garden and a slice of fragrant and creamy Cantal cheese...
Parlan, the nearest village, has a bakery and a local grocery store with fruits and vegetables, cheeses, and a butcher's shop. In the neighboring villages, the weekly markets feature local producers from the Lot and Cantal regions.
Not to mention an excellent wine cellar at Le Rouget!
IN TOUCH WITH NATURE
Here, the tree dominates, breathes, and asserts itself in our forests.
Having become "wood," it remains a living element and always tells a story. Wood speaks to you; you love to touch and feel it... so do we!
So if you have a creative flair and a desire to work with wood with your hands, the Grange experience continues with our DIY nature workshops. During your stay, you can create unique little items to take home as a souvenir.
