Our eco-friendly home is very comfortable, temperate, bright, and functional. We have a cat and a few small-scale livestock. We cultivate an organic market garden and have a swimming pool (with salt water), a pond, and a lake.
Our eco-friendly house is very comfortable, temperate, bright, and functional, making it a very pleasant place to live. We have a cat, a few chickens (50 meters from the house), ducks (150 meters), and sheep or pigs depending on the year.
"Water garden" because we have a swimming pool (salt treatment), a pond (for frogs), and a pond (for ducks). They are very important for freshness, aesthetics, and the biodiversity we welcome.
We finished our earth-and-straw house in December 2016, and since then, every season and hosting friends or family has been a delight. A special feature: the toilets are dry toilets (sawdust toilets, with a bucket that needs to be changed roughly every four days for four people).
We rent our house to finance our own vacations elsewhere. So, if our mutual departure and arrival dates coincide, we can meet up. Otherwise, if you prefer, we can invite a neighbor to host you. We've just built a nice cabin 200 meters from the house (out of sight of each other): depending on your arrival dates, it's possible that one of us will stay there. We'll then park near the house and discreetly use a section of the garden to get to the cabin.
We have lots of vegetables in the garden and on the veranda: depending on the season and our produce, you can pick some vegetables, berries, and herbs.
We can leave you maps, guides, and tourist information about the area: numerous hikes in the mountains and Piedmont, animal parks, and other sites.
We also have a very cuddly cat at home. She has a cat flap, so she can come and go independently, plus a large supply of food and water.
