This splendid site is perched in the heart of the Valdivian rainforest of southern Chile, just a 20-minute drive from downtown Valdivia.

Lophosoria, named after a fern native to these forests, offers stunning views of the Río Cutipai just down the hill. After admiring the river from above, you may be eager to swim in it. Fortunately, a trail leads directly to a river beach. Another path winds its way to the heart of the Santuario de la Naturaleza Humedal Cutipay, a nature reserve about three kilometers away, where you can observe a variety of bird species and visit local artisans who handcraft boats.
