Just 40 minutes from Rome, tucked away among the serene woods and rolling hills of the Monti della Tolfa, Agriturismo Ottava Goccia offers a peaceful retreat where sustainability meets authenticity. It’s a sanctuary for travelers seeking to slow down, reconnect with nature, and embrace a more mindful and genuine way of living.

The name Ottava Goccia carries a profound philosophy. Inspired by Georges Ivanovič Gurdjieff’s Law of Octaves, it reminds us that true growth is never linear: it unfolds through mindful pauses, attentive listening, and simple daily gestures. Each drop symbolizes transformation: drop by drop, lakes, essences, and new thoughts emerge. Like the eighth note in a musical scale, a conscious step opens the door to a new cycle, a higher state of being.

The historic farmhouse stands proudly in a pristine valley, surrounded by ancient olive and chestnut trees, an organic vegetable garden, shimmering water plants, and star-filled skies that invite quiet reflection. Every stone whispers centuries of history, and every natural corner radiates balance, harmony, and inspiration.

Here, nature and authenticity merge. Maria and Annarita, the founders of the Country House, curate unique experiences, nature-immersive activities, and sessions dedicated to inner well-being, fostering sustainable tourism that honors the environment and celebrates local traditions.

From ancient farmhouse to cultural eco-oasis

The story behind Agriturismo Ottava Goccia

Ottava Goccia Country House was born from the vision of creating a Cultural Eco Oasis—a space that inspires visitors to explore new perspectives and reconnect with what truly matters.

Reviving an ancient farmhouse in the Monti della Tolfa was the first step in crafting a place that is simultaneously a home, a sanctuary, and a gathering space. Here, nature and tradition meet the pursuit of a simpler, authentic, and sustainable lifestyle.

This project is born out of love for the land, genuine hospitality, and appreciation for the simple, good things in life. Far from commercialization and standardization, here guests can breathe in history with a touch of authenticity and depth.

We aim to listen, guide, and immerse our guests in a different, more authentic world—a world where respecting seasonality is always a priority. Our greatest strength lies in the care we extend to both our guests and the nature surrounding us.

Organic hospitality and community care

Eco-friendly practices and support for the local community

At Ottava Goccia, sustainability is not just a concept—it’s a way of life.

We follow a low-impact approach: cultivating an organic vegetable garden that supplies most of our ingredients, harnessing renewable energy, and minimizing single-use plastics.

In our kitchen, we celebrate seasonal, local, and zero-kilometer produce, collaborating with small regional artisans. We also support local craftsmen, shepherds, and farms, believing that true sustainability starts with the community around us.

I am an architect with a passion for travel. I think it is urgent to be able to live in harmony with the ecosystem we are part of. After the birth of my second baby, Leo, I began to work at Ecobnb, an adventure undertaken to change the way we travel, to make it more sustainable, respectful of the environment, places and people.
