[Being an ecobnb] It’s a way of life, that I practice daily, that comes from the heart because I have the awareness of having only this planet in which to live and I’m grateful every day for what it offers me.
Thus ended the chat with Melania, the owner of the beautiful La Coroncina Farmhouse.
We are in the rolling hills of Marche region, among landscapes that seem to invite us to stop, to take a break to breathe this authentic, simple beauty. Here, on the road that joins Belforte del Chianti to Caldaro and among the organic vegetable gardens of the farm, we see a rustic and chic farmhouse.
Melania talks about the restoration of the building, made following the criteria of green building, using diamagnetic steel instead of iron to make the foundations, choosing natural colors, using cork for internal waterproofing and linseed oil for the exterior, installing floor heating and no air conditioning system: every decision, from the largest to the one relating to internal and external light bulbs was made taking into account its environmental impact. Once the farmhouse was restored, Melania also decided to install solar panels, replace the gas with methane and create a system for the recovery and reuse of gray water.
The farmhouse today shows itself in all its beauty, with walls and exposed stones that reproduce the local style; in front of it there’s a beautiful bio-pool made of resin without the use of reinforced concrete, all around the green of the gardens and of the small wood that protects one side of the house.
Inside, well-kept rooms that combine modernity with rustic beauty welcome travelers from all over the world, who seek and find here peace and tranquility, for a regenerating experience that follows the rhythm of nature. Melania, a vegetarian since 1994 and vegan since 2014, has a great passion for cooking, which plays a central role in the experience that she offers to her guests: on the ground floor of the farmhouse there is the restaurant, in an almost Provençal style, which proposes a vegetarian and vegan gastronomic experience based on the flavors of the garden and carefully selected Italian products. The same room is used for buffet breakfasts with homemade products: cakes, jam tarts, biscuits, bread made with sourdough, vegetable milk and various types of tea.
On the upper floor, which can also be reached by the disabled by lift, are the two double bedrooms. The Cerbiatto room wraps you with its sober shades of beige, the strong brown of the coffee grounds, with the white of the fireplace and the copper of the doors and allows you to admire the surrounding hills from the large windows. The Leprotto room is the ideal getaway for two: with a modern style it also offers a beautiful bathtub with chromatic lights. Then there is a attic room on two floors: on the first the bedroom with two single beds and upstairs the double bedroom.
The farm also offers the possibility of living an unusual experience, sleeping inside a barrel that has been converted into a romantic bedroom.
In the basement area of La Coroncina farmhouse, there is an intimate wellness center where you can relax with messages with Vanesio extra virgin olive oil, try the steam bath or hay baths, the infrared sauna and the whirlpool.

What are the itineraries not to be missed in the surroundings?
The visits to the villages, the lakes, the walks along the lakes, the bicycle routes, the small local realities made up of family micro-realities.
If every element of the farm makes your stay truly special and rich in sensations and you’ll wish you can stay here forever, the nature that surrounds it invites you to explore. Le Marche, squeezed between sea and mountains and softened by its hills, has much to offer: for example, the charming village of Elcito, Frasassi Caves, Conero Park or the Abbey of Fiastra, the most important monastic building of the region. Melania will surely advise you on the most beautiful experiences, which will transform your holiday into an unforgettable journey.
