The new Ecobnb contest invites everyone to share what makes us feel good, reconnecting with ourselves, with nature, and with the world. The prize is a three-day, two-night stay in an eco-friendly accommodation.

What if your next vacation became an opportunity to reconnect with nature, rediscover yourself, and contribute to a different way of traveling? This is the challenge launched by Ecobnb with its new contest dedicated to the theme “Regenerate”, an invitation to renew yourself and support a form of tourism capable of leaving a positive impact on places and communities.

The contest offers a free stay of three days and two nights for two people, with breakfast and dinner included (drinks excluded), in an Ecobnb accommodation chosen from many options. The prize can be used from September 2026 to June 2027, excluding peak seasons and holiday weekends, subject to the availability of the host property.

A vacation to rediscover your own rhythm

Bioagriturismo Girolomoni, in the Marche region: sustainable hospitality, organic cuisine, and rolling hill landscapes.

The contest stems from an increasingly widespread need: to slow down, breathe, spend time outdoors, feel part of nature, and travel more mindfully. It’s not just about going away, but about changing perspective. Even a staycation, a walk close to home, a slow weekend, or a simple experience can become an opportunity to feel better, more connected and closer to the world around us.

Regenerative tourism also invites us to rediscover places far from mass tourism: small non-touristy villages, natural landscapes, inland areas, and authentic communities often left out of the busiest tourist circuits. It is a slower, more mindful way of traveling, capable of enhancing lesser-known destinations and creating more genuine relationships with the people who live there.

Regenerating through travel means rediscovering well-being while also helping to regenerate the places that welcome us. It means supporting local and organic agriculture, moving slowly on foot or by bicycle, reducing waste, promoting the circular economy, and encouraging increasingly sustainable practices that bring tangible benefits to territories and local communities.

With this initiative, Ecobnb invites travelers, nature lovers, and sustainability-minded people to share their own way of experiencing well-being while traveling: what does feeling balanced mean? Which places, gestures, or experiences help us regain our energy? How can a vacation also become a small contribution to making the world a better place?

How to take part in the Ecobnb contest

To participate in the Ecobnb Regenerate contest, share an original photo and a short story about your own way of regenerating in nature. Photo via Canva PRO.

To participate, you need to publish a post on Mastodon or Instagram, sharing in simple and authentic words what makes you feel good and helps you reconnect with yourself, with others, and with nature.

Your post must include:

  • an original photo taken by the participant;
  • a short description related to the contest theme;
  • the official contest hashtag: #EcobnbRegenerate;
  • a tag to Ecobnb’s official account @ecobnb (@ecobnb@mastodon.social on Mastodon).

Your story can stem from a vacation, a slow journey, an experience in nature, a sustainable choice, or even a moment of well-being close to home. What matters is sharing an image and a reflection capable of expressing the desire to travel in a more conscious, gentle, and regenerative way.

How the winner will be selected

Participants’ contributions will be evaluated in two phases.

First phase – selection of the 20 finalists
The 20 entries — images and stories — that receive the highest score based on the public and verifiable interactions generated by the post will advance to the final selection.

For the purposes of the contest, interactions include:

  • on Mastodon: favorites, boosts/shares, and public replies to the post;
  • on Instagram: likes and public comments on the post.

For scoring purposes, each public and verifiable interaction is worth:

  • 1 point if received on Mastodon;
  • 0.90 points if received on Instagram.

The difference in scoring reflects Ecobnb’s editorial choice to give priority to open, interoperable social channels that are aligned with the principles of digital sustainability, while still allowing participation through more widely used social media platforms.

Only public, verifiable interactions generated within the validity period of the initiative will be counted. Ecobnb reserves the right to exclude from the count any interactions that are abnormal, automated, unverifiable, repetitive, or clearly contrary to the spirit of the initiative.

Second phase – choosing the winner
Among the 20 finalists, the winner will be selected by a jury composed of experts in sustainable tourism.

The jury will evaluate the entries according to their consistency with Ecobnb’s values, storytelling quality, originality, evocative power of the image, and adherence to the theme of regenerative nature holidays.

The winner will be announced in September 2026.

The winner will receive a free stay for two people at an Ecobnb accommodation, choosing from several options: organic farm stays, scattered hotels in ancient villages, B&Bs surrounded by nature, and other eco-friendly places.

The prize includes three days and two nights, with breakfast and dinner included, excluding drinks. It is an experience designed to slow down, immerse yourself in the landscape, savor local flavors, and discover authentic hospitality that pays greater attention to the environment and local communities.

The stay can be used from September 2026 to June 2027, excluding peak seasons and public holiday weekends, subject to availability and prior booking. This choice is consistent with the spirit of the contest: experiencing travel outside the busiest periods, when places regain their natural rhythm and the experience becomes slower, more authentic, and truly regenerative.

Why talk about reconnection and regenerative tourism today?

At Piccapane farm stay in Salento, regenerative travel becomes a matter of sharing, nature, and conviviality.

At a time when travel often risks becoming the rapid consumption of places, images, and destinations, Ecobnb proposes a change in perspective: travel can become an act of care. Care for ourselves, for nature, for local communities, and for the future.

Sustainable tourism is not only an ecological choice, but also a deeper way of experiencing travel. It means choosing environmentally conscious accommodations, enhancing local territories, reducing impact, embracing slower rhythms, and leaving something positive behind wherever we go.

With the Regenerate contest, Ecobnb invites everyone to share this new vision of holidays: not an escape, but a return. A return to nature, presence, wonder, and the possibility of feeling part of positive change.
